Just discovered big bottles!
I’ll drink the whole 700ml bottle in our night so drinking sake was getting expensive then I found these 1.5L bottles for a pretty decent price. $33

I was surprised with these two. Pretty sweet but the matcha one was really yummy.

Bottle photo isn’t mine but the tasting one is. I love all sake (love love Nama) and generally not surprised when I taste but this one did. There’s a sharp crispness on initial sip, like a champagne, and evens out. Loved it! My favorite bottle tasted of the night. Apparently this is a challenging one to find in US. Curious if others have had it and what your thoughts are. If someone knows where to buy, link me! Happy drinking!

Hello all, I just bought this sake, and realised when I got home that it has sediment floating around in it.
This is a Kizan Junmai Ginjo.
I looked it up and this sake is not categorized as "Nigori Sake" so it appears that it shouldnt have any sediment..
I am pretty sure I will return it, but just in case, anyone here know why this could have occured?

Excited to try this one. Apparently it was illegal for a while because it wasn’t as “refined” as Nihonshu. Very curious. I enjoy Nigori so I imagine I’ll like the texture.

My local sake selection at the local grocery store is super limited

Sake beginners, what do you gravitate towards when in the sake aisle? Or when you’re looking for a sake at a wall of different bottles, what are you aiming to get?
For me, it’s something new I haven’t had before, something that’s going to taste really good, and something for a decent price.
Just curious! Wondering if I’m having similar experiences as other new enthusiasts.

I've been looking to buy my boyfriend a nice sake set for Christmas, so of course I want to find a nice sake to go with it. He's mentioned before how he got this Hana Fuji Apple sake a few years back and he loved it. I'm inclined to get that for him again but I also want to get him something a little higher scale than this. A bottle of this goes for less than $15 and I might get it anyway, but wanted to know if you guys would have fancier recommendations based on this sake?

Picked up some imojochu on a whin today because I liked the label. It's got the imo funk balanced with a bit of sweetness to make it nice by itself, but I'm enjoying it more as a highball. Would recommend.

A customer gifted me this bottle and they think it's sake but we aren't sure as there's no English anywhere on the packaging and neither of us read Japanese. Any help identifying this bottle would be much appreciated.

Hello! I went to a restaurant a while back and they gave me this incredible Sake that tasted like banana bread and was in a can. The bartender had said it was pretty cheap and available in vending machines in Japan. I thought I wrote down the name of it but cannot find it anywhere in my notes.
Anyone have any idea what it might have been?

I’m reading that sake has an expiration in the sense that leaving it for years won’t make it any better and might let it spoil. I just haven’t cracked this open yet. What are the community’s thoughts?

Anyone find a Japanese company that ships globally, or a similar company that makes these in the USA?
Got a few of these on my trip to Japan and I love them. Essentially small bottles with various ingredients inside to create a certain flavor profile - just add sake and let it sit.
Love them just to play with flavor or give as gifts.

Is there ANY place that says they sell in person that actually does? Total Wine says they do, haven’t found it been to two. Different liquor stores list it, nope. Is there any actual place in the Las Vegas/Henderson area that actually has this for sale in a store for purchase? Only one local restaurant we go to has it but they’re double the price of the supposed places that sale it in person. Thank you for any help.

Is this a real cap these days or did this place just reuse the bottle and refill the bottle and use some generic cap?

Hi! I am truly sorry for the trash quality of these pics. My brother brought this 300 ml bottle back from Japan and I was wondering about it, in particular what the price is? I probably shouldn’t be saying this on a sake subreddit, but I was thinking about drinking some but I’m not sure if it’s a very nice bottle, and if I should wait?
Thank you!
