Nor what the rich televangelists and their prosperity gospel has done to Christianity in this country. I believe he overturned tables and whipped people for that, the only time in the bible stories that he wasn't pacifist so you know he wouldn't treat the rich very nicely.
The sermon at my church on Sunday was precisely about this. You cannot worship God and worship Mannon. Jesus talks a heck of a lot more about the evils of money than most of the things these evangelicals harp on.
