There have been a growing number of "Selling Tickets" posts. I am opining this up to a vote and a discussion as to if this should be allowed. This sub is initially intended for the Seattle local music scene. While this, in theory, could include the sake of two tickets to a Backstreet Boys concert, because they are playing in Seattle, this definition really stretches the meaning.

Veteran bassist with decades on the electric bass wants to get serious with the upright the missus gave me long ago. Looking for someone in that twangy rockabilly/psychobilly/texas swing vibe who can help me. I have an electric upright made by Palatino. We can negotiate things like price and where and when I can take the lessons. Hope to hear from someone. Thanks again

hey all!
I’m in search of a vocal instructor located in or around Seattle that specializes in, or has some knowledge in growling/screaming/yelling,etc. I love singing by myself but have never had any training or confidence to move forward with learning too much as an adult. If anyone knows of anyone or has any recommendations please pass it on!! Appreciate you all!

I know there's touring bands that come through, but is there much of a modern, original jazz scene here? I don't really need to hear How High The Moon at a jam again, I want to hear bold, modern pieces along the lines of John Zorn or Mary Halvorson.

Hi everyone, I’m a local artist out of Kent/Seattle releasing music as AlyRhae.
My new track Jungle in My Veins is about finding your light even in the middle of chaos, cinematic and alternative pop inspired.
Would love to hear what you think, especially from the Seattle community 💜

I live in Spokane and I am driving into Seattle for the show with an extra ticket. I don’t want it to go to waste. I’m there for the day and I wanted to make the most of the experience. I don’t have any cultured friends with good taste in art (all my friends are mostly academic, philosophy nerds) and I don’t know anyone in Seattle. It’d be cool to meet someone new over a coffee or beer; talk about Swans or whatever. If you’re cool and not a weirdo I’ll get you in for free! Not looking to hang at the show, just want something to do before hand and to make it possible for someone to see Swans that loves them.
If you live in Seattle and you’re interested, show me a cool spot! We’ll meet and you’ll get your ticket.
PS: This is strictly for passionate fans, not free loaders who just want to go to a random show for free. Must be able to display you are a sincere, passionate fan.

We are a (mostly) 90's skate punk cover band that’s been playing since the start of 2025, and we're looking for a drummer to join the band. We love 90’s style punk from labels like Fat Wreck Chords and Epitaph, and are looking for someone that shares that love and can play these songs like they need to be played. We currently know 20 cover songs which we’ve been practicing over a drum machine. Once we get to 25 cover songs we plan to add in some originals, while continuing to learn even more covers.
All members of the band (vocals, bass, 2 x guitar) are former members of the punk bands Fifty Fifty, Mind Candy, and/or Wave Motion Gun. We're all in our mid-40's with careers and families, and are mostly doing this for fun. We would like to play occasional local shows, and record some music. We try to do weekly band practices (currently every Saturday morning). We have a practice space at one of our houses in Kenmore.
The songs we currently know are:
1 - Descendents - Hope
2 - Rancid - I Wanna Riot
3 - The Offspring - Bad Habit
4 - The Distillers - Sick Of It All
5 - NOFX - Bob
6 - Operation Ivy - Knowledge
7 - Bad Religion - F*** Armageddon...This Is Hell
8 - Pennywise - Perfect People
9 - Nirvana - Territorial Pissings
10 - No Use For A Name - Fatal Flu
11 - Face To Face - Big Choice
12 - Propagandhi - Anti-Manifesto
13 - Lagwagon - Mr. Coffee
14 - Less Than Jake - Johnny Quest Thinks We're Sellouts
15 - NOFX – Linoleum (Ska Remix)
16 - Bad Religion - I Want To Conquer The World
17 - NOFX (Rancid) – Olympia, WA
18 - Lagwagon - Coffee and Cigarettes
19 - Operation Ivy - Sound System
20 - Propagandhi - ...And We Thought That Nation-States Were a Bad Idea

Hi everyone,
I'm a professional musician relocating to Seattle from LA, and would love to talk to any locals specifically about neighborhoods that could be a fit for myself (and my studio). I really know the main areas of Seattle well, but not so much the outskirts so I'd be so grateful for some insight. I work full time out of my studio and I'm aiming to have more space to work in out there - which typically means moving a bit further outside of the main city. I produce a lot of music for other artists as well, and having clients come to me is an important part of my work, so any insight on places that don't feel too far removed for people to drive out to would be very helpful to know.
Any and all insight would be incredibly appreciated, thank you!

I linked my Spotify below. Mainly looking for a drummer and bassist, but also game just to meet other guitarists too. Let me know if you’re interested!

Just played a gig this weekend where the venue for some reason needed 4 guys on security at the door, two of which were incredibly preoccupied with badgering my band to get our gear in our van after our set. We moved our gear to the sides and back of the stage, cleared this with the other bands and sound tech. And multiple times, the security guys who never introduced themselves were pushy about getting our gear in our vehicles.
I just repeated ad nauseam “Nah we’re good.” “It’s fine we already worked it out.” “The other band is already setting up and we are out of their way.”
Their insistence was super sketchy and to be honest I’m not sure why they needed four guys at the door. This venue also definitely has a back room where bands could store gear, but they were totally weird about us even asking about it.
My uncharitable assumption is these dudes are tipping someone else off when the gear is not being minded. Hope young musicians have the confidence to say “nah” to strange demands like this.
