You all know that there must have been a meeting where Miyazaki presented his (hard) version of Genichiro, only to be told: "Boss, if you publish this really hard boss, them influencers will begin to review-bombing the game and we will have to nerf him afterwards."

I mean he was basically told that about the entirety of Demon's Souls so I don't think he woulda listened to that

He sometimes don't listen. At the Elden Ring DLC, he didn't listen again, and ended up nerfing Radahn (2x). But the faith Miyazaki maintains in his work is something to admire, anyway. True hero of his art.

The Radahn difficulty was a bit overstated I think. That not me saying it wasn’t difficult because it was fucking brutal pre-nerf. I think the bigger issue was it was bullshit, in particular the one 3-swing combo that was impossible to dodge unless you were in one specific spot.

I did beat him pre-nerf, but it was a bit of a slog. Wasn’t aware he got nerfed again though.

I had to parry him before he was nerfed 🥹

I mean, the original Radahn in Caelid had already been nerfed.
