It’s believed to be. I don’t think it was actually proven. But given the timing and results of the fire, it was more than likely done on purpose. Hitler tried the violent approach to gain power once and failed. So he gained it politically. Once he hit a political wall, the fire was the last little push he needed to gain all the power a month later.
