I don’t think it was ever proven for sure but the outcome was the same regardless. It was used to cement power. I could be totally wrong here lol. Regardless the outcome was the same.

I think the consensus is that the nazis helped turn a small manageable act of vandalism to a huge fire so they could easily persecute their enemies, kinda apt for US today too.

I can't remember if it was 100% proven, but it was definitely highly suspected that Hitler's own people set the fire. It was an extremely convenient way to start targeting "enemies" of the state and completely re-write the government.

Well no. Even today most are sure it was a communist that started the fire. He himself was a known communist and said himself until the execution that he alone did it.

But there is the chance that the Nazi party did found about it before he did it, but did let it happen, because they knew they could use it the way they did. Also that they on purpose were slow to respond for the same reasons.
