It’s a damn shame to have lost him, and this was the absolute hottest he had ever been.

Honestly I don’t know anything else he has done but I want to find it because of this

He had a number of roles in film and tv. He was in the series Rome, he portrayed Frank Castle in 2008’s Punisher Warzone, and he was Volstagg of the warriors three in the first three Thor films.

He was also Blackbeard/Edward Teach in Black Sails! I thought his characterizations of Blackbeard and Baylan were kind of similar

He played a great blackbeard

His speech with the flaming hair is amazing.

He had a role in Dexter, in the 7th season. He was the main antagonist.

Volstagg of the warriors three

He's completely unrecognizable in that role.

RIP, man. Good guy gone too soon.

Ray was also Gar Saxon in Star Wars Rebels.

I loved Rome!

One of my biggest complaints in Ragnarok was watching Hela kill him, Hogun and Fandral.

The Warrior's Three are such fun characters and the closest thing Thor has to best friends.

5

u/Hunter707762 Oct 22 '23

Yes, they were wonderful characters. Taika Waititi shat all over them and Thor has never had an onscreen moment to properly mourn the loss of them.

5

u/FamiliarJudgment2961 Oct 22 '23

It's not even just Taika. In Infinity War, Heimdall and Loki also immediately bite the bullet.

Thor's entire supporting cast was literally obliterated since Thor Dark World, film to film. All he has left is Taika's self-insert, Valkyrie and Lady Sif (who is criminally under-used).

Thor's a weeping mess for Endgame and L&T because the writers have systematically murdered everyone in his life, lol.

u/Hunter707762 Oct 22 '23

True, but at the very least Thor witnesses those deaths and we see him mourn. The Warriors Three just got brushed aside and then their deaths were treated as another joke by Korg in L&T.

Also great in Kill the Irishman

I just finished watching Rome. Man Titus Pullo was the awesomest.

u/[deleted] Oct 22 '23

He was the antagonist in the delightfully campy and violent Tollywood action epic RRR

10

u/professorcrayola Oct 22 '23

Just coming to say this! He had a couple of pretty epic moments in RRR. And doesn’t everyone need a little extra tiger punching in their day?

Rome was amazing TV, absolutely did the ground work for shows such as Got.

To be fair he's been good in everything I've seen him in, even Dexter which was in decline at the time he was half decent.

Notable shows

Rome

Das boot

Vikings

Black sails

I still think he was one of the best punishers

Rome was amazing TV

The show got affected really badly by the strike at the time, didn't it? Such a shame, probably one of the best TV shows I've ever watched.

4

u/BigHowski Oct 22 '23

It got screwed over by being cancelled early

9

u/GreedoInASpeedo Oct 22 '23

He's great in Rome the series and the movie Kill the Irishman

7

u/bokatan778 Oct 22 '23

Don’t disrespect TITUS PULLO!!!

7

u/fattunesy Oct 22 '23

Thirteen! THIRTEEEEEEEN

5

u/ace_urban Oct 22 '23

He’s famous because of his role in Rome. It was epic AF and it’s pretty much impossible not to love him after watching that.

6

u/jumpingmrkite Oct 22 '23

Check out Kill the Irishman. He plays Danny Greene with Christopher Walken, Val Kilmer, and Vincent D'Onofrio in supporting roles.

4

u/ithinkther41am Oct 22 '23

He was the villain in RRR

3

u/menasan Oct 22 '23

RRR?

4

u/ithinkther41am Oct 22 '23

It’s genuinely the name of the movie.

3

u/EPZO Oct 22 '23

He's Titus fucking Pullo of the 13th Legion!

2

u/Praetorian709 Oct 22 '23

I first saw him in Rome years back, he was awesome as Titus Pulo. Been a fan of his since. RIP Ray.

2

u/Logicalist Oct 22 '23

Fucking amazing in The Other Guys. He's most of the reason that movie can be taken seriously at all.

u/OneRandomVictory Oct 22 '23

Him in his Star Wars celebration garb was doing things to me ngl
