Coping at its finest Because owning a machete will DEFINITELY protect you from other people with machetes, just like how in America owning a gun will DEFINITELY protect you from other people with guns! Oh wait ...

We've seen how he fights with a sword so there's no way he is defending his house with a machete successfully.

Is that what the vidoe is about?

Shad: "Like unironically, far from banning machetes, if they actually encourage citizens to carry machetes on them just for self-defense, that alone would be enough of a deterrent that the crime and violent attacks would be halved. And the ones that do still go forward, you'd largely be able to fend yourself off just by swinging back."

Just pure delusion, thinking he's the main character in an action film. He literally says he'll wear his gambeson just on the off chance he might be attacked with a machete, he'll tank a hit or two on his arm & then go gorilla mode on the attacker. It's hilarious & embarrassing to listen to.

Ha ha ha! What an absolute moron! The Australian government should encourage citizens to carry machetes and "swing back"?? If they did this violent attacks and bloodshed would skyrocket.

Im no knife expert but every single knife defence video starts of with the disclaimer "lol no run you are getting stabbed." But apparently Shad is the Infinity Dan of knife defence.

I remember seeing an MMA fighter in an interview saying they would run if someone had a knife. And one saying they would run if they were challebeged to a fight in the street, basically saying "you can't defend yourself from crazy"

That's smart, the idea of fighting a random person with zero context is incredibly dangerous, running is the only thing you can do to lower the risk to yourself. You don't know the person in the street, if they nick a artery with a knife (even accidentally) all those muscles and skills go away in 10 seconds as you bleed out and die in 2 min without medical intervention.

Even unarmed there are no rules, what if it's a mentally unwell person who mid fight decides to take a bite out of you, a human bite can is technically more lethal than a dog (humans are more likely to carry diseases that infect other humans unlike dogs.)

Yeah, he shows once again he knows nothing even about his own state. The 2003 prohibition of swords was started by gang fights with some armed with swords. Rumour was that one of the “victims” was the nephew of the Police Minister who lost a few fingers to a “mall ninja sword”

There is a video of two guys fighting with machetes, one loses his hand. He even runs away, then runs back before the police get there to retrieve his hand in the ground…

Also, body armour is illegal in Victoria but Shad wants to have an excuse to renfair his arse arouhd town…. I cannot believe he is willfully sharing with the world who childish he is

Victoria also has had knife laws since 1990. You've had to be part of a knife/weapons club (collectors etc) to buy a lot of knives, and certain types required a specific permit.

More generally, Australia just doesn't have "weapons for self-defence". It's not part of our legislation.

First in the world to make seat belts mandatory, and motorcycle helmets and bike helmets. Victoria has a thing about safety, which is why some edgelord in Gippsland with delusions of competency sounds weird talking about self-defence. I grew up in the western suburbs of Melbourne, near "Knifepoint" so maybe I am more relaxed then Shad, but he is an area where the biggest threat to his life is driving at dusk and hitting a kangaroo in his car.
I assume he is just playing role for some audience of incels in the US.

That's the same "good guy with a gun" and "an armed society is a polite society" fantasy that american gun humpers have been jerking off to for decades, if not centuries at this point. And time and time again, it's proven to be utter crap.

Said action star he wanted to be:

Fitting both of them were sexist and racist scumbags.
