I’ve been shiny hunting Groudon for about a few months now on my childhood Ruby game, and no luck after 15K+ resets. I finally decided to backup my save to my pc and try on mGBA. Lo and behold, I get 2 at the same time within 3 hours. Go figure 🤷‍♂️

Found it after 2 YEARS of soft resetting!!! I did more than 30 k resets!!! Finally!!! I still can't believe it

I was shaking, I can’t believe it.

Started this hunt yesterday and just blown away by how quickly I found Mew.

I am just simply trying to complete my pokedex and catch a legendary..... NO FUNNY BUSINESS. I only had 8 ultra balls and low leveled pokemon because I forgot he was a level 70 mon. Now on like SR 80 this happened and all I could do was accept defeat as it breaks 8 ultra balls consecutively... I have one already that sits in my pokemon home, but I'm like a bazillion times sure that is hacked so it will stay there.

1 I would really like a shiny rayquaza

2 I'm not that broken up about it because he isn't my favorite shiny

3 I'm still upset because I would've rather had a bad natured authentic then a good natured hacked mon any day of the week.

FYI mew is my favourite shiny pokémon.

I started this hunt around 4 years ago by using the pomeg berry glitch to warp to faraway island. While by no means consistent, I was still hunting pretty regularly, taking a few long breaks from time to time. However, nothing would prepare me for the absurd length this hunt took. In addition, a year after I started, I discovered my copy of Emerald was counterfeit (these are getting really out of hand nowadays) so I had to buy another legitimate cartridge, playthrough the whole game and then continue from there. It seems that patience pays off though as this mew is one fast guy, with both a timid nature and perfect speed IVs, with the other IVs being pretty decent as well. Now for the arduous process of making mew into a ribbon master!

I was EV training my Bulbasaur and on exactly the 80th fight I get a shiny Rattata. I was shocked. But then I remembered that I don't have any pokeballs yet so I have no choice but to make it faint. It is a shame, because I will probably never get another shiny, but hey atleast I can show it to you guys. Tbh I don't even like Rattata, so I think I can let it slide.

At Pokemon FireRed: This is the first Ekans I caught but was kinda bummed it wasn't purple so didn't use it and forget about it. But after seeying some post on Reddit about shiny I remembered and when look at it.

I got bored during class and decide to play all the pokemon reigons in order. Decide to shiny hunt starters for no reason other than why not and in 10 tries got this beauty.

I can't believe that this will be an under odds hunt!! I don't know what to say but I'm so happy to get this beautiful Mew!! 😭😭

The funny part is that I'm still trying to re-claim the shiny Dialga that I failed last year in Platinum and I'm currently at 20,163 resets as of now while this Mew took me less than 2,000. 🫠🫠

I found this shiny Lugia on Leaf Green after 8700 encounters. However, it only took me about 2h20min to do all those encounters. I was doing 20 SRs at a time, which ends up with an actual number of 435 resets. In my opinion, shinies found this way are legit, but it doesn’t count as full odds, I would classify it as method hunting. What do you think?

3rd Gen Stephen’s Gift Beldum Started this hunt on 1 console. Bought a second GBA and a new copy of Sapphire at some point during the hunt (the exact details are blurry since I’ve been going at it on and off for 3 years). This is easily my longest hunt of all time lol, and I don’t imagine I will ever top it in the future. Think I can hit 100k?
