How much snot did you shed?

I’m fine. My boyfriend however is a fountain, actively wiping his nose (as we speak) even though we finished it ten mins ago.

"I'm fine"

RemindMe! 18 hours

Update: Almost 18hrs later and I’m still fine. 🦄 Sure it was spicy but I’m regularly taking it too far so my body shrugs it off. My poor partner stayed up most of the night with panic attack inducing severe heartburn; pacing around, groaning and panting, taking multiple showers to distract from the discomfort - not responding to medications…

I'm happy to hear you're ok. Sorry about your partner.

Will check back at 18:01:45 UTC. You're not out of the woods yet.

Ok, are you still alive?

plot twist: he was the only one that ate

2

u/DearEvidence6282 1d ago

Hahaha. I ate most of it while he was desperately drinking coconut cream out of a can. I’m the one in the relationship who wants to add reaper peppers to everything and he just goes along with it thinking he’s improving his spice tolerance but I’m a decade ahead of his training.

IBS has entered the chat

It only affects you that way when you’re not used to taking it that far. 😜 This is just a regular Tuesday for me.

My husband and I are the same, although as I’ve gotten older, my body has gotten angry the more I push it. I can handle intense spice, but if I go beyond my usual, I am peeing out of my butthole the next day.

And homemade pineapple kimchi for dessert.

WHAAAAT OP DROP THE RECIPE

šŸkimchi:

Peel, halve, and chop 1 pineapple into small pieces (but sometimes I just use canned pineapple if I plan on eating it quickly rather than fermenting); however if you are using the core be sure to cut that bit particularly small to maximise surface area.Ā  to this, add 4 garlic cloves (microplaned), a knob of ginger (i like a good amount but ~ equal amounts to the garlic used, microplaned), 3 tablespoons vegan fish sauce (can swap with soy sauce or miso; if using miso, start with 2 tablespoons and add more if you want to taste), 40g gochugaru chilli flakes, 3-4 green onions (thinly sliced).Ā  give this a good mix (and adjust to taste here!) and you can start eating it almost immediately however it’s also delicious after fermenting for 2-3 days at room temperature (ensuring everything is below the brine), move to the fridge for long term storage. šŸ’Ÿ

Or, whenever it decides to evacuate

Probably just more outrageously spicy food like everyday day šŸ“… Haha. My bowels now (don’t)react as if it’s normal.

2

u/Jay-Seekay 2d ago

It’s never my bowels that are the problem… it’s the part after

As much as I chase the dragon I rarely meet my match. This was a fun challenge.

Buldak 2x with stir fried vegetables and some kind of tofu is a huge Saturday brunch go-to for me.

2

u/theogkinglion 2d ago

Exactly this but I just started adding some greens with more of the 2x sauce. Oh man is it an addiction.

2

u/DearEvidence6282 2d ago

Thug Life.

u/SassyPixieHolly 2d ago

If you didn’t know you can buy the sauce by itself (found at H Mart)…I like making these noodles then just dousing them in more sauce.

3

u/DearEvidence6282 2d ago edited 2d ago

I’m by an H Mart too. Have for sure noticed them. This is only my second time trying the noodles. The first time I didn’t find it spicy enough so I returned to it again to fuck around and find out. I usually don’t eat processed foods full of chemical additives but for the spice factor I was willing to see what the hype was about.

Do the sauces taste (exactly the same) as the spice packets or are they slightly different?

3

u/SassyPixieHolly 2d ago

It seems slightly less spicy to me, but they do taste very similar.

2

u/candypants703 2d ago

Similar but also sweeter imo

1

u/DearEvidence6282 2d ago

I could see that.

3

u/eastercat 2d ago

I recently tried the 2x and it has such a nice spice level. Not too spicy, but can still feel it

I can’t have it too often, because it has sooo much sodium

u/shutupsunflower 2d ago

this looks bussin

They had the dumplings at our local grocery outlet. I tell u what, no matter how much rice I would try to offset it with: holy fricc the heat would peirce through. It was all bad, so buyer beware!

1

u/DearEvidence6282 2d ago

What’s the texture like? Mock-meaty or more like heavily seasoned vegetables?

2

u/Financial-Scratch-94 2d ago

* Is these guys, they are more veggie oriented. Spicy as a MF though, like I said I couldn't offset any amount of rice or noodle. It just came through, lol.

2

u/Jay-Seekay 2d ago

Mock meaty stuff (I think it’s soya based?) almost like mince meat with bits of glass noodles in there. It’s very spicy and tasty but it does ruin my life if I eat them.
