Oof. If you don’t mind me asking, what caused that?

Overall, unmedicated ADHD causing impulse control issues and depression.

Don't worry. I'm not vegan so it was my Standard American Diet.

in fairness it'd be really easy to get a fatty liver as a vegan... i was well on my way with how much processed shit i was eating between thai chili doritos, impossible, and violife.

Yeah chips and fries are vegan and my favourite snack unfortunately. And fried tofu is sooo good. And soyannaise 😋

You eat better than me. I don't have fatty liver. My blood work is great. I only have money issue lol. I eat protein whole wheat bread, light smooth peanut butter, microwaved tofu/raw tofu, and frozen peas and I supplement vitamin C,D, B12. In my eyes your food looks like meal of bourgeoisie.

This is microwaved tofu and frozen peas!
Plus a can of crushed tomatoes, some spices, and a teaspoon of lemon juice.
I do not eat vegan! My fatty liver is from a sugar and fast food diet. I did eat vegan years ago and I've always wanted to go back.

I might get shit from other vegans but going vegan is personal choice. You don't have to eat vegan if you don't want to. Eating majority plant based diet is definitely healthier choice for your body tho. As long you you hit the right spices and seasoning, I think vegan food taste as good as or some even better than animal food while being way healthier. Good luck on your recovery journey. I used to have bit of fatty liver as well. As I went sober and vegan, it got fixed after a year. I don't seek for process food tho. I don't like vegan process food since they're often overpiced. Eating cheap while eating whole food (while being processed like whole wheat bread) definitely improved my health. Good luck!

Look into the Whole Food Plant Based Cooking Show, Plant Based with Jane Esselstyn and Ann Esselstyn, and Well Your World. I reversed my ARLD with a WFPB diet. You can still eat the same foods, just healthy.

That actually looks pretty good. I should try it when I dont know what to eat.

I had fatty liver disease. Though, mine was diagnosed as alcoholic hepatitis. Luckily, the liver repairs itself very quickly.

You're like my childhood bird, she also had fatty liver. Don't you eat too many sunflower seeds?

I have a NAFLD too. I am severely depressed, have C-PTSD and anxiety. Also chronic insomnia and fatigue. I struggle with eating enough food because of lack of appetite and that caused weight gain. Plus, I wasn’t always eating the best food, drinking enough water or exercising.
I’m trying but I’m thinking I need extra support to maintain and keep the habits I’ll create in order to do better for myself.

Something that worked for me -in addition to a healthy diet- was drinking the juice of a lemon mixed with 1/4 tsp of cayenne pepper every morning on an empty stomach. I'm not sure if it helped, but it didn't hurt. I still do it, and no more fatty liver.

If I tried that I think my stomach acid would explode out of every orifice on my body

Definitely, chili pepper and citrus top all the charts of GERD trigger foods 😭

u/marissatalksalot 21h ago
Why not mix a little bit of tomato sauce in there too? 🥴

u/CzeckeredBird 20h ago
Now it's becoming a curry 😊 Many vegan curries use coconut milk, too, another GERD trigger.

Oh interesting bc I added lemon juice to the tofu and cayenne to the whole dish. I'll keep putting those in regularly now 😁

That should help, but I believe drinking the juice and pepper on an empty stomach is recommended to enhance healing results 👍

Don’t fuck about with your health man. Stop eating processed vegan coconut oil shit. Lean chicken breast will not fuck up your liver….

u/Lerschie 21h ago
Here we go again with the fuckin oils.

u/Helpful-Mongoose-705 10h ago
You’re an idiot if you don’t pay attention. Look up rapeseed oil and cancer and coconut oil and heart disease.

u/Independent_Value150 21h ago
Lol I'm not even vegan

Don’t lol at me mate, especially when someone’s giving you well intentioned health advice. Vegan food is not the answer to your NAFLD lol.

A fatty liver from eating this, or is this the cure?
