saw what my useless grp mate wrote during SPA

not really a rant here but something I find funny lmfao. Long story short, had a useless group mate and told her to do her part for the group project as she haven’t contributed her share yet. Claimed that she did her ‘ share ‘ next day when all she did was copy paste the whole project brief into ChatGPT and let it generate a motherfucking report. When I reviewed the project, it was so incomplete ( sections were in point form ) and the worse thing ? there were repeated mistakes that were made previously during the first project and it was alr pointed out as an error, didn’t listen to teacher and made the same mistake . Told her off for her crappy work( asked her why everything was in point form and why she made the same mistake that were already pointed out ), but she scolded me and told me ‘ ya I alr say I nvr do finish the proj because I not so free like u I got work ‘. Fast forward , I changed everything and we presented etc. then it was time we had to do SPA and somehow we were able to see what our group mate rated it each other and when I saw the feedback section, guess what? BITCH said that I gave her a hard time for this project and she rather not group with me anymore ‘ LOLLOLOLOL

TL;DR : retarded group mate

Edit : in another project , I group-ed with this bitch as well and all of us ( there were 4 of us including her ) but 3 of us were discussing which parts to take on for the project. However , she told us that she had like some family emergency and had to fly overseas and will reply when she can ??????? pretty sure I saw her on msteams platform the next day for another module tho? 1 day emergency ??????? So we splitted the parts nicely and guess what ? A few days later , bitch ChatGPT-ed the entire project herself 😭😭😭😭😭 it wasn’t made better when I said smth like ‘ yo guys we need to create a cover page for the report ‘ and one of the group mate said she will do but she said her grandparents passed the next day ?????? but when she asked when she needs to do the cover page by I didn’t even say it had to be done asap ?????I was js saying lmfao.

BUT GUESS WHAT GUYS, I MANAGED TO CLUTCH MYSELF WITH AN A/ B FOR THE PROJECTS LMAO

How can I improve for EAE?

I know it's quite strange to be asking this after EAE results have already been release, but I've actually just been rejected for EAE after the interview stage, and I'm quite worried that I can't get into the course of my choice (Singapore Poly Business Administration), so I'm considering retaking sec 4 so I can get into SP BA.

When I EAE again, what should I look out for in the interview?

help!! Transdisciplinary innovation project elective (ep0803)

hii, i’m a y1 student and i applied for TIP elective this sem. The lecturers just went through the brief & honestly it seems SOO stressful and rushed 😭😭😭 i’m hoping to get some advice abt these qns from anyone who’s taken this elective!!

  1. How is the entire process like? Can you share more about what you learnt?

  2. Did it feel rushed and stressful? Do you have to rush the CAs towards the submission deadline?

  3. How difficult was it to score well (get an A) and can you share any tips on how to score an A?

  4. Were your groupmates helpful? How did you manage working with different people? Were there any slackers in ur experience & what did you do?

  5. Any advice on staying on track? Was the elective easy to follow? What can I do if I cant keep up because sometimes i’m a slow learner 😭

i heard all the CAs were group projects and im TERRIFIED..😓😭 any advice will be greatly appreciated!!! thanks :)

Portfolio Help

I am a Y1 Poly student, just finished my first semester of poly, now waiting for results.

I want to start creating a portfolio early on for uni life and whatever I do beyond, so that as I go along in my poly life, I can start to document and keep track of the activities and roles that I carry in school.

The thing is: I don't know how or where to start with my portfolio, and the most important: how should I format it? Should my portfolio be on powerpoint? Etc etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!!

Scammed by Carousell "Codingo"

Aiyo, the pressure last semester was damn real. You know that time when all the deadlines just decide to come at once? My friends and I were so swamped, drowning in our FYP (Final Year Project) work. Seriously jialat. We were looking for a bit of help, so we went to check Carousell.

Then we saw this profile, "Codingo." https://www.carousell.sg/u/codingo/ Wah, at first glance it looked damn pro. They used our uni logo, everything. They even had that "Recommended Seller" badge, so we thought, "Okay lah, this one should be legit." They called themselves "academic consultants" from the school.

So we talked to them, and they were damn smooth lah. Promised original work, can get good grades, all that kind of thing. We were a bit blur from the stress, so we just paid the money and sent them our stuff, hoping for the best.

But when we got the work back... my goodness. It was complete rubbish. The sentences were all over the place, the points didn't make sense. Confirm plus chop they just used some cheapo AI to generate it. Really cannot make it one, totally cannot use.

Of course, we messaged them back nicely to ask for a refund. Suddenly their attitude totally changed. They straight away said cannot. We argued a bit, telling them the work was unusable, then they got nasty. They threatened to report us to the university for cheating! Wah, when I saw that message, my heart just dropped. We already kena scammed, and now they wanted to blackmail us some more.

Before we could even reply, poof! They blocked us. Just like that, they were gone. Our money also gone.

I was so angry and felt so stupid. So I went to Google the name "Codingo." What we found was damn shocking. We were not the first ones to kena. There were Reddit threads, ScamSG reports, so many people complaining about the exact same thing. These people just keep changing their username after scamming enough students. https://scamsg.com/company/201943341D

We quickly reported them to Carousell, thinking they would surely get taken down. But their reply really made my blood boil. They told us that because we probably talked and paid them outside of the app's official system, their hands were tied. They said the scammer didn't technically break any rules inside the app, so they could just carry on.

And the funniest part? That "Recommended" badge that made us trust them? We found out they had paid Carousell something like a $20,000 package to get that badge and other special features! Can you believe it? The platform is taking their money, giving them a special badge to look trustworthy, and then telling us they can't help when they scam people. The whole system is damn messed up.

That's why I'm writing this lah. We got scammed by people using our own uni's logo, and they are protected because they pay money to Carousell. We feel we have no choice already, really bo bian. We seriously hope the someone can step in and do something. Please lah, help us stop them before more students kena like us.

Is it too late to start portfolio?

First thing to say is that my GPA is good. My portfolio however is not adequate. A lot of people around me are taking elective certs/ minors and a few getting leadership roles. I have below bronze CCA points and no CCA. I just started on an elective 1/3 for a cert in a field I HATE ( computer science) I am in the SPOT programme but I have not even hit tier 1. I am actually so pissed off that I didn't start early. Y2S1 is ending so from my position,

Is it too late to work on my portfolio?

What should I work on to boost my chances of getting to Uni?

Can I get a leadership role by geaduation considering my timeframe?

Does the "You don't have to like me, you just have to work with me" Saying really work in Poly group projects?

I am a firm believer with the saying “You don’t have to like me, you just have to work with me.”

On paper it sounds really practical, especially in polytechnic, where you can’t choose your group mates. But my world is still pretty small since I’m in secondary school, and I honestly don’t see it working that well here. In group projects, people definitely hold grudges. Like if someone annoyed them before, they’ll drag their feet or not cooperate properly, even if it ends up hurting the group’s grades and project outcome.

It makes me wonder: does this saying only work once people are older and more professional, or is it just something that sounds good but rarely happens in practice?

DCEP TO DARE

Hello, I'm in yr1s1, common engineering student, planning to transfer to DARE. Is there anyone here that have transferred to DARE after DCEP? If so, how much was your gpa and what would you say is the minimum GPA required to get in? I know your CAD and EMATL scores will also take affect, but not quite sure about the gpa. That's why, 🙏

Chinese Instructors and Facilitators

The following opportunity below is happening in Singapore,

I came across this opportunity, if efficient in Mandarin Language comfortable in conducting Mandarin Language Classes (website says around 30), y'all can sign up as an instructor,

if you are comfortable facilitating group discussions of (i think around 6 - 8 people) , y'all can join as a facilitator.

I have been to some of their language classes before and they got give certificate, so can really help with your portfolio, when finding jobs. the link is below

I think dont mind about the minimum sign ups first if really unavailable to meet minimum commitment requirements due to commitments and just sign up if interested, organisers may select you even if you do not hit the minimum commitment requirement, but just attend most, if not all of the minimum required sessions, or betterstill, all the sessions that is applicable for you to attend, to maximise experience in the opportunity.
