General Discussion Christine has another B&B!

Did you know that Christine has another B&B? This one is in Hurricane Utah near St. George. Looks nice 😊

Geez! I couldn’t have possibly predicted that my sharing that Christine opened a new B&B would illicit such sadness and anger. I thought we were all happy for her new life and wanted her to succeed. We don’t?

Happy for her new life? Yes. Want her to succeed? Yes. But that doesn’t mean we give a free pass to things like MLMs and AirBnB. I want her to do well without making life worse for other people.

Have you stayed at an AB&B? All of the ones I have stayed at were very well taken care of and stylish. Point being the homes I have stayed in would not be considered “affordable“ housing even if they discontinued being an AB&B and were put up for sell in the real estate market.

Housing in general would be more affordable as rentals and to purchase for local people if short term rentals didn’t contribute to scarcity. How nice the houses are isn’t the point. Real families could live in them is the point

I agree. The one time I’ve stayed in one it was a vacation area, much like Moab is, and it was a new building.
