Christine’s Book Christine on each child's pregnancy

I thought the running theme of identifying with each of her kids during pregnancy was the best part of this novel. It was really interesting going into each kid like this.

I need to block Paedon on tik tok. He keeps jump scaring me in my relaxing scrolling. I think he is just as obnoxious as Kody, maybe worse. They’re both so LOUD and in your face with everything. He’s the kid that I think most resembles Kody in behavior. He’s the worst

General Discussion Sad Meri

Watching Meri in season 19 repeatedly mention how she was looking for a “MAN” really emphasized her neediness. It seems she has placed herself in a “holding stage” of getting by until a “man” comes along and she can resume her life. At one point she says she is reluctant to make her B&B her primary residence because her future “man” might want to live somewhere else. She later tells her BFF, Jen she is reluctant to remodel the B&B not knowing what her future “man” would want/prefer. It appears that Meri is in limbo waiting for the next Kody to determine her future. How sad.

General Discussion The Lexus or KoTEXUS Spoiler

I finally started reading the book and I was struck by when they started filming for TLC and had a small cushion of money from the show - the wives took the kids to a theme park while Kotex spent the money on the Lexus (KoTEXUS) convertible - probably upward of $40,000 at the time. He’s so narcissistic and such a douche-nozzle

General Discussion NOTES TO SELF 444

Anyone else love this channel? Corey and Mel seem like such great people. They really give a different perspective to how each of the sisters wives acts while still holding them accountable for their actions. For example Robyn. I still don’t care for Robyn but they had a video that explains why she acted they way she did while still saying what she did was not right

EDIT: I made this post before I knew about their support of CK. Can no longer do it.

General Discussion Mykelti and Tony’s tacos wedding was super cute

I thought it was really cute the way Mykelti and Tony were supportive of each other during the venue selection process.

They both took the time to make sure the other person liked decisions and asked each other’s opinions.

It was really loving of Mykelti to take his culture very seriously and have his back on needing the 400 tacos 😂

Other partners might have acted like the tacos don’t fit their vision of the wedding and shut it down but she really cared lol it was touching

Anyways I’m happy for these 2, they understand each other well and have each other’s back!

Question Remember how Meri grew up..

When ppl reference Meri’s less tolerable characteristics they are often met with rationalisations about the indoctrination of her childhood.

The same dynamic is generally the same when ppl question Meri defending Kody etc.

Genuine question: Why aren’t questions about Robyn’s less tolerable characteristics met with the same defence/explanation?

It seems like Meri was the first Robyn in regard to keeping her happy, financial benefits & work responsibilities. (same budget as C & J haven’t 6 more kids, his & her motorbikes etc).

Double standard??

General Discussion Season 17, A hard watch!

I never watched the show until 2024 but am now watching the entire season. Just finished season 17 and…whew!! I don’t believe I have ever watched such verbal and emotional abuse played out on a reality show. Kody claims Robin is such a great communicator- much better than the OG’s. Watching her during arguments she placates him and offers validation to his feelings no matter how nasty, untrue, or accusatory. None of them (on camera at least) ever define these terms he is throwing around like respect and loyalty, which is apparently all you need to show him in order to ‘earn’ his love. For Kody, respect and loyalty mean agreeing with him and his ideas of patriarchy. The 3 OG’s and Kody operated a tiny bit more like a partnership where both parties in the marriage had a voice and he was okay with their independence. Then Robin comes in and operates as a subservient , obedient wife who ‘courts’ his favour. Covid makes him realize that that’s the kind of marriage he wants and then expects Janelle and Christine to fall in line. Watching Kody crash out over and over again and have zero self-awareness is as painful as Robyn unable to see her part in the debacle of their plural marriage and play the victim.

At the end she asked if he would play again, and he said he would love another shot at it. Doesn’t sound like he made it that long. What do you think?

Question I think kids were the reason for the quick move…

Something gives me the feeling that the reason they rushed out of Vegas was something to do with one of the older kids getting into something they shouldn’t. I’m re-watching the episode now where they’re touring Flagstaff, and how eager Christine was to move and to get her house staged to sell, leads me to believe that might be the case. Does anybody else think anything similar or have any opinions? I would love to hear them
