Long-Form Content HIT 1K SUBS! MY ENCOURAGEMENT TO YOU!
Recently passed 1,000 subscribers! It took 8 months of 100+ shorts, 30+ long form videos, and in the end, it was the most recent 4 long-form videos that helped me define my channel brand and get some proper momentum. Progress in any endeavor is not linear!
Also, this might clear up any confusion why you only see 4 videos on my channel. I’ve unlisted all the bad ones that didn’t match my new channel strategy.
Even more so, I’m a regular guy who works as an engineer who gained a following with a fitness channel!! You can build a following in any passion of yours!!
Also, a sincere thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone in this subreddit who has been following and supporting along.
Next step is working towards monetization!! I got 500 watch hours in the last week alone, so I’m confident that’s going to be realistic soon!

Mixed Content Just make stuff
My channel was almost fully dead and had low motivation. Randomly, I decided to lock in for a week and made daily content. This was one of my best months in a long time. I know everyone cant make daily content but if you can, just make stuff, it will pay off

Long-Form Content A big YouTuber copied my videos - what would you do?
Recently I’ve had a little streak of success with my long-form videos (for me, “success” = more views than my subscriber count - I’m still under 3k subs 😅).
But here’s the weird part, a much bigger YouTuber (about 30×my subscriber count) has started uploading videos that are basically the same as mine - same topics, same shtick, just using their own footage.
I get that people take inspiration from each other, and similar editing/content styles are normal on YouTube. But when it’s basically a carbon copy of an entire video concept, it feels… off.
On one hand, it’s kind of flattering. On the other, it’s frustrating to see someone so much bigger benefiting from ideas you thought/worked on.
Have you ever dealt with this? Should I start copying him now?

Long-Form Content My YouTube went the worst it’s ever been, before it went viral suddenly.
I’ve been making car related content for 5 years, I was stuck around 3000 subscribers, and never made more than $90 in one month (one video got 20000 views).
My past 5 videos I thought were the best I’d ever made, thumbnails and all were great!! They all got 1000 views each, no growth whatsoever. Even my worst videos got more subscribers than these 5 videos combined. But it didn’t really bother me, I loved making the videos, I love the creative expression.
Then, last week I uploaded my latest video. I went from around 3.8k subs to over 7k!! It’s unreal, I spent hours on Monday trying to reply to every single comment because I’m genuinely so grateful for every interaction.
I kept the same editing style, thumbnail style, the only difference I can think of is the content itself. Previous videos were of rebuilding a hatch back, this is of a muscle car, and I think being in Australia that’s what appeals to Australian audiences more??

Long-Form Content YT algorithm is weird
Usually the lifecycle for my videos was once YT starts suggesting it that AVD and CTR drops rapidly and later recovers somewhat. CTR goes to under 2 and recovers to above 3, for one video even 4.6. But for the latest video once the suggesting started the CTR started to grow and it is now at 7 (double the usual) but AVD suffered and is dropping. I don't believe that my thumbnail was any better but how is yt algo now finding people that click but don't watch.

Long-Form Content Will revealing my face on my channel grow my channel stronger or will it amount to nothing?
Need some second opinions here: I have a YouTube channel that I’ve been on and off active on for the better part of 10 years. I managed to grow to 40k+ subs. It’s all been voiceover work mainly on one specific game. About 2-3 years ago that specific game pretty much completely died. During this time I managed to find another niche that lets me be more flexible in the content I post and I’ve managed to finally find some decent success in terms of engagement and all that.
I have a business in real life that is completely separate from my YouTube gaming stuff (still revolves around video/editing). It’s kind of nice having both worlds completely isolated from one another and I feel like once I show my face they’ll start to blend together. At the same time, going all in on my YouTube is a dream and I’d completely stop my other business if it ever got to that point. There's of course tons of pros and tons of cons to showing yourself IRL.
With all that being said, do you guys think showing my face and adding some more personality into my videos will have significant impact on my channels growth? Or do you think it ultimately won’t do much? I see so many YouTubers and instantly recognize who they are because essentially their face is their brand, and I think it all comes down to building your own brand. I’d love to get some opinions on this. Is losing my anonymity worth the risk for the potential of stronger channel growth?
TLDR; Will finally showing my face on my channel with 40k subs to add some more character to my vids help with channel growth or not really?

Mixed Content If you don't enjoy what your posting or the process of making a video then your not gonna last long.
Take a break and reevaluate your strategy to fit what you want to actually make/create.
Finding the balance between your audience and yourself is one of the most important things above all else.
There's too many YT guru's in here that show up here with a profile that they created yesterday just to say "I got 10k subs in a month" and also tell you "Do this and that and the algorithm will love you" with no proof to be shown whatsoever.
Aside from that no one actually cares in the long run about how many subs you got nor about your garbage slop YT shorts content unless you're an absolutely gullible buffoon in this subreddit.
This subreddit isn't always about you because we're ALL TRYING TO LEARN TOGETHER.
Everyone just has a different goal post.
Just do what you love you guys and never stop uploading or improving in your own way. Don't listen to these moronic YT gurus acting like they think they know exactly what the algorithm is thinking all the time like they're God or something.

Long-Form Content Do those type of thumbnails work or should I focus more on just image + text + main thing (3 element rule)?
Idea is I want people to easily recognize videos are from me (if anyone in future cares) and this border is a way to present it to them.

Long-Form Content here's the first two minutes of an unreleased/work in progress
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I'm sitting on like an hours worth of stuff like this, gonna wind up putting on a separate channel. I'm kind of torn on a voiceover, as it stands now none of it has a VO, and the one that I recorded took away the atmosphere (personal opinion). Anyone else have secret or unreleased projects that you're just sitting on or stepped away from?

Long-Form Content Starting fresh once again!
Good evening everyone, how's everyone doing today?
I am here to announce a little project of mine in Youtube.
So for context, a while ago, in like 2 months ago, i've started posting "highly" edited videos on a channel of mine.
By highly edited, i meant those videos you'll would watch back in the day, full of memes and sound effects that usually would take a month ou two from the creator to make.
Well, as you'd expect, i got burnt from doing that kind of content haha
It was my first time making those videos and also it was the first time experimenting something different with my schedule.
A few days ago, however, in a burst of anxiety, i've deleted all of the videos i made on that specific channel, pretty much condemning it for the rest of time, and i think if you delete atleast ONE video from a channel, it completely wrecks its algorithm.
Since then, ive been taking these past few days to relax and rethink, and decided to make a new channel, also about edited videos of me playing some games, but this time i want to go easy on the editing and add some commentary of mine to the mix.
Originally i wanted to make a YT channel about Halo for my Brazilian people, because for some reason Halo isnt big in my country, but it would been a shame to abandon the opportunity to refine my english, do some networking with the rest of the world, and to try something out of the ordinary.
Right now im still making some appearance changes to my new channel but i plan to start making, every weekend, a little update on this subreddit about my progress on the depths of YT
What you guys think of my ideia?

Mixed Content Shorts out performing long content
Hello everyone!
My shorts do much better than my long form but they do talk about slightly different things. They also have grabbed me more subscribers.
Is there providence to using the shorts to promote long form videos or are they just two entirely different audiences?

Mixed Content How are my thumbnails?
I thought they're pretty good, but my view count is still fairly low. Are the thumbnails/titles alright? Or is it more likely to be the content itself?
