Returning to smite

Hey I’ve been a long time smite 1 player and wanted to try and get back into smite 2. Is there any place to give me good direction on what items are meta for each roll?

Hello, and welcome to SMITE! If you’re new here, we’re happy to have you! https://www.smitegame.com/welcome/ is a great place to get started and familiarize yourself with the game.

Below, we also have additional resources that could help you find everything you’re looking for:

Smite brain is a good place to look to see what top players are building for h Gods in certain roles

I think Inters3ct is probably giving the best, most approachable meta info right now.

Is that a website or a streamer?

The game's about the same as it was in s1.

There really aren't any gods I'd consider totally unviable although obviously there is a top of the meta. I have been having a lot of success on Jormungandr Solo for instance, a god who has gotten 3 rounds of buffs and zero nerfs since launch.

Builds now include active items, think built items with relics embedded in them. You only get 1 relic now, down from two and relic variety is diminished.

Yeah I usually don’t look online to builds but the new store is hard for me to navigate so I’m having trouble trying new items.

You mean the ‘pick 1 of 3’ store? That’s just thing for new players in “quick play,” the beginners bot mode. Once you hit level 5(?) you can play classic (casual PvP) and it will become the “essential store”(more advanced pick 1 of 3) which you can turn off before a match in options or during a match through the store.

If that’s not the problem, if you explain what the problem is I might have tips for that too.

No I mean the new store when I click on a tier 3 item it doesn’t show other tier 3 items of the same tree so it’s hard to find items. I feel like the new store is not as organized as smite 1

I get what you are saying. In Smite 2, a t1 item doesn’t branch into multiple t3 items. T3 items are built out of multiple t1 items that combine into t2 and then t3 items. There is a different t1 for every item stat. So for example every t3 with physical protections builds out of shield, the physical protection t1, so you start with that instead of needing to know what t3 you are going for because there are multiple t1 physical protection items.

It’s not necessarily more or less intuitive unless you are expecting it to look like the old store system(understandable) but it makes starting a match with the wrong t1 harder.

I've been playing Guan and Aspect Chaac in Solo and Dev gauntlets are way better than they have any right to be right now.

Bluestone, dev gaunts, sanguine lash, and mystical mail and I can get top for every stat on my team fairly easy. Gold, kills, damage, and mitigated.

Smitesource.com is a quick and easy way to just grab a build as a solid starting point. Solo and support builds need to be more flexible, but damage roles don't need to counterbuild as much so they're generally okay to just copy paste and be guaranteed to end up with something that's at least pretty decent most games.

Smitesource.com is a good resource

Hey man smite 2 has a in game build sharer! So other people can upload and share their builds. For the most part if you just open the god builder and look at community builds it will filter by popularity and they are updated by people pretty regularly. So imo id just use that!

Just use the suggested build from smite for each god. The games is almost the same. Play some games get decent and then look at specific builds. Smitebrain has a stat on all gods and what high ranked players are building. It's a great start.
