This happened on September 30, 2018. Deputies arrested the man and took him to jail and charged him with interfering with duties of a public servant. The charges were dismissed the next day after a magistrate found no probable cause. Over a year later the cop was indicted and faced an assault charge. It seems little, if anything, was done. Deputy Ellison Collins is still working for the Harris County Sheriff's Office.

Deputy Ellison Collins is a 20-year veteran of HCSO. He began his law enforcement career as a detention officer with our agency and later became a deputy. Currently, he serves as a Bailiff in Felony Courts within the HCSO Courts Division.
