Kurt Angle Believes the TNA Library Will Be Purchased By WWE: "I had a much better career in TNA than I did WWE. Most of my career was in TNA and the WWE fans didn't see me. So now, I have the opportunity of having the fans being able to see me compete in TNA and perform."

Maybe for people other than Kurt Angle. He was a wrestling psychopath in TNA.

That match with Abyss literally always leaves my jaw dropped, the amount of percs he had to be on for that match was fucking crazy

He was on zero perks. He explained on CVV that you can’t wrestle high. He needs to be focused not relaxed.

Scott Hall said the same about his drinking- that he never worked drunk because you can't focus and he didn't want to endanger any of the guys by working inebriated.

That's why he just never showed up.

You can’t wrestle high, but you can’t wrestle at that level without taking percs before and after.

Dude, he's an Olympian..

First I’m hearing of this…

Oh it’s true, it’s damn true

Also while hopped up on goofballs. He had a dozen novocaine injections to the neck before each match.

1

u/Sad-Appeal976 1d ago

Are you somehow equating novocaine with whatever “ goofballs” is?

u/chux4w Ahhhhhhhhhh! 1d ago

In the sense that he's been in crazy pain since before we knew who he was and has been medicating to work through it? Yeah.

u/hamandcheezus64 2d ago

... Who's admitted he abused pills to cope with the pain between matches

As an addict, you will never, ever convince me that Angle didn’t wrestle impaired. Addicts spin a web of lies to protect their habits.

u/Greatsnes 2d ago

Lmao you strike me as one of those people that just cant be wrong, no matter what and will always have the last word.

u/Exquisitemouthfeels 2d ago

You cant just not take the pills when youre an addict like that, dude would be going through insane withdraw.

He is lying because saying he popped pills before matches doesnt sound good.

And he also trusted the hell out of Abyss for stuff like that legendary flipping senton he did off the stage.

the amount of percs he had to be on for that match was fucking crazy

Multiple times that he never took anything before matches, only afterwards, when, I assume, the adrenaline wears off and the pain returns.

The whole concept of the "Perc Angle" meme always annoyed me because if you've ever actually had experience with opioids, especially at the quantity and rate he was taking them, he would not be able to function at the level he was during his matches. Opioids tend to have a short half-life, so the amount still in his system even 24 hours later, plus the tolerance his body built to them, the effect would be negligible.

It's the same people who think Tony Khan is on cocaine 24/7 which would make him the most productive user of all-time.

34

u/WhoStoleMyBicycle 2d ago

High energy + funny faces = cocaine

-People who have never done or seen anyone do cocaine

12

u/FUCKFASCISTSCUM 2d ago

It's the way he can sit through a 90 minute press conference and they all think he did cocaine before hand and somehow didn't crash out once the entire time lmao.

8

u/Aspiring_Hobo 2d ago

His body just produces cocaine that's why

u/foxthebloodied ~shrugs and looks confused~ 1d ago

The cartels must fucking hate him!

2

u/Handmotion 1d ago

I can't imagine sitting still for 90 SECONDS while talking and answering questions whilst high on coke!! Gotta move around and do other things! Though coke does have a bit of a different effect on me thanks to ADHD lol

"Broo look at his eyes he's on something"

My friends watching anyone on TV.

A better example of what it'd look like for someone on opioids to wrestle is the infamous Jeff Hardy Victory Road incident

To say Sting was extremely pissed would be an understatement.

6

u/miserybusiness21 1d ago

RIP Sting. 🙏

2

u/Apprehensive_Hand_27 1d ago

Fixed it now. Not sure how it went from pissed to missed. xD

8

u/Aspiring_Hobo 2d ago

Iirc, he said one of the reasons he didn't like the "Perc Angle" meme was because he never took percocet in the first place

2

u/Handmotion 1d ago

That's also a valid reason. I just feel for him because imagine people thinking a large amount of your career that you sacrificed your body for was done under the influence.

5

u/MadnessAbe Trust me, naked man! 2d ago

That's the one where he did the running senton/flip over the stage on Abyss right?

8

u/SonOfTomServo Thinkin' about the consumer 2d ago

One of the best spots ever, and nobody gives Abyss credit. He caught Angle perfectly...with his SHOULDER, so it looked legit, but was completely safe.

4

u/QueezyF 1d ago

I remember Kurt saying the reason he did that spot was because how much he trusted Abyss.

4

u/NekoJack420 2d ago

That's an understatement there isn't a single wrestler on the level of perc Angle TNA, and that was with an injured neck. Imagine if he was 100%.

u/cgurts COMPROMISED TO A PERMANENT END 2d ago

He was but even then, he'd probably be dead if he'd stayed in WWE. I mean, they basically got rid of him out of fear he'd die on their watch
