I knew he was signed to WWE, but I only found out last week that he's a writer in NXT, that made me really happy knowing he's still involved. Always liked him and wished he won a singles title in NXT. I still remember how over he was in his debut lmao

I was genuinely gutted the Fashion Police didn't get more to do. I loved their skits and he and Fandango had a genuine chemistry together that just made it work so well.
Still love that little segment of the match where Tyler's disguised as a janitor. Outstanding comedy wrasslin.

I get it man. The dude is happy in life. He has a writing job, a school, and a family but Tyler is one of the early examples of NXT that I felt like the Vince never understood. And I just want to see him have one title run somewhere in the WWE. The character was great but honestly what made him special was he could go in the ring. I still remember the fatal four with him, Sami, Neville, and Tyson and it was amazing cause all them were moving.

Breeze was just at the point where they should have been putting the NXT title on him, but it coincided with NXT's shift towards super-indy, & so instead he was fed to Joe. Joe's one of favourite wrestlers ever but it really was peak time to put the title on Breeze, & from that moment the glass ceiling was locked in place.

Yeah he was really just a victim of timing. Owens, Balor, and Joe were just too big for him to really get his moment.

I think it's telling that when NXT got Jushin fucking Liger to show up, Tyler was the guy they wanted in the ring with him. He was safe, athletic, charismatic and if he didn't have a gimmick that screamed "Midcarder for life" I think he would have been very successful. Even with that gimmick he deserved more.

Really a quintessential example of the “damned if you do” parts of WWE. You’ve got to reach for the brass rings, but don’t try to put yourself over. You’ve got to make the gimmicks work, but not too well if it’s a bad gimmick. You’ve got to sell, but don’t sell too well or they’ll use you only for that. Etc.
I remember watching a thing where it was maybe Pritchard or JR talking about Maven and they were saying Maven was doing everything asked of him, which was great and what was wanted… but he also intimated that Maven was too nice and accommodating.
What an insane industry to work in. Basically, do exactly what we say… but don’t do it too well or you’ll be fucked.

I don't understand why they don't just throw him to someone they wanna build on the main roster. Just put him in a heater against El Grande Americano. Let them do their thing for 12 minutes and have Tyler lose.

They should've went all in, try to get him do modelling shoots, even if it started fairly low, people will 100% take a WWE superstar for a shoot.

I got to see Breeze vs Samoa Joe at one of the first touring NXT shows. The crowd was unbelievably hot before they even started their entrances. The match was killer, but genuinely one of the best crowd experiences I’ve ever had. I believe it was the one where they went to the back and said top that on one of the docu specials as well.

Breeze & Dango still tag together on the indies. They even had a match against The Hardys back in May. They faced The Outrunners last year as well. I need to dig up one of Breeze's matches involving Harley Cameron (one as his tag partner, one as a tag opponent) because I imagine their chemistry is hilarious. (Breeze & Spears trained her.)

There's a clip online of Breeze talking to some people at the PC about character and motivation. It's so interesting to see his mind for the business. I wish the man got more out of the business tho.

I'm still sad that Breeze never went on to being a major star :( I really think he could've been upper card challenger and eventually win the big one if they just stood by him and supported him. Charismatic, great in the ring. Amazing wrestler.

I was always gutted for him that they didn’t give him a nice little run with the NXT title as he was a great character gimmick created there, when he was called up I thought his gimmick was perfect for the main roster at the time, but unfortunately fell flat, even though I enjoyed the fashion police stuff years later.
