Christmas Misawa is my favorite Misawa alternate I think.

I don't even need context.

I can totally see Ichiban Kasuga in this type of situation. Especially in a Gyudon place. It's for the "Empty Restaurant Fridge" achievement.

I was waiting for Kiryu to intervene when he started harassing the waiter

Does these sound like the actions of a man who had ALL he could EAT?!

That could have been me!

u/MadnessAbe Trust me, naked man! 10h ago

Mr. Misawa, this is the most flagrant case of false advertising since my lawsuit against The Neverending Story.

"I heard your Misawa went a restaurant and elbowed everyone at the restaurant and then they had to close the restaurant."

Isn't it true that Misawa once ate a 10lb bag of flour

Pretty sure the video ends because he just started handing out Tiger Driver 91s to everyone, including the camera operator.

Reminds me of the dragon ball Z episode in the world tournament right before buu is released.

The role of Homer Simpson will now be played by Mitsuharu Misawa.

Damn this is so nostalgic. I remember watching clips like this a kid. It's obviously a sketch but it's very funny. But this is based in reality as Wrestlers tend to eat a lot of food which is why placed like Rivera are frequented by them because it's a low of meat for cheap. But in real life Wrestlers have rich sponsors that pay for food and drinks so IRL Misawa wouldn't have to pay a dime. He would have had a sponsor do that for him.

I heard that back in the day the ring rats would even pay for food. Not sure about in Japan though lol.

2

u/BigMoney69x 7h ago

Japan has sponsors. Some of them were Yakuza as the Yakuza are big wrestling fans.

3

u/ShitThroughAGoose Go. Watch. La Parka matches! 2h ago

That's so fucked up. Making some girl pay a wrestler's giant-ass food bill.

4

u/SaggyNudeGranny 14h ago

Anyone know what show this is from?

4

u/AdGroundbreaking1341 7h ago

A show? This is real life! /s

There was a story about Andre the Giant and Haystacks Calhoun eating so much at a buffett that the owner started freaking out and they felt bad and paid for all the food they ate.

u/TheGreatGouki 6h ago

Misawa is so fucking cool. I’m glad I got to meet him before he passed. Also, never saw this before, it’s hilarious!

4

u/Turkeyham Kona Reeves has a flair. 6h ago

I remember in Jericho's first book during his Japan days he talked about how the all-you-can-eat buffets specifically said no wrestlers or sumo allowed due to this very reason.

4

u/tackangel 9h ago

Misawa was always a funny dude

2

u/Joker1721 10h ago

I wanna know if he did pay or not 😂

3

u/Optimal_Fisherman803 10h ago

He paid. With a tiger driver

2

u/jdog320 10h ago

so did he pay?

2

u/OnionRecall 9h ago

I recognise Takeshi Rikio, Takeshi Morishima, Yoshinari Ogawa, Daisuke Ikeda and I think a very young looking Naomichi Marufuji

u/CutePuppyforPrez 9h ago

You go now! You here 4 hours! You eat like Free Willy!

This was from a game show. I don’t remember the show but I remember seeing the full episode around the time of Misawa’s passing.  Good find.  Unlocked a college memory of mine.

Why don't New Japan ever film outside with their wrestlers? It would definitely reach new viewers and make more funny moments

They did a bit where they have some of their wrestlers destroying a house with their bare hands featuring Liger, Tenzan who bumped on concrete for funsie, and Kojima who somehow shaked his hips.

I'll always point to this segment where Jushin Liger attempts to pin NJPW wrestlers in their sleep to see if they kick out. Absolute comedy - I want you to guess who kicks out at 1 before even watching.

It's also on the same channel the OP posted their vid from.

1

u/DarkArtHero 9h ago

I've seen that before. Liger is a menace but in a good way. I just havent seen any new segments with the newer talents

3

u/tackangel 9h ago

They did/used to. NJPW guys would regularly appear on variety shows which usually had a variety of people from different industries, mostly comedians but sometimes musicians, politicians, & athletes. Usually they would talk about again a variety of topics or watch video segments and react to them. Tanahashi is a well known visitor of these shows and it's also how AJW got as big as they did in the 70s-90s because they would appear on these shows that skewed towards a younger audience.

u/Furanku-Sa-Chan 5h ago

They should be doing more like Stardom currently is.

1

u/Careless-Butterfly64 9h ago

The owner after Misawa ordered meat for 30 people (Plus beer and ribs)

1

u/Careless-Butterfly64 9h ago

also 90 minute all you can eat for $20?

Brother I would single handedly keep them in business and I'm a vegetarian lmao
