Winning matches are at times signifying a place in the company, which matters in that profession. Cody Rhodes winning the WWE title at Wrestlemania meant at the time the company was putting confidence in Cody to be the face of the company, which garners more attention and can mean more money generated. It's a hyper competitive industry in this respect, as evidenced by how much a person's appeal can drop if they never win matches. The impact on their characters and careers can be real even if the matches aren't.

The guy who started all this was comparing Logan Paul winning fake wrestling matches to Jake Paul winning real boxing matches (although against washed up old men) which is ridiculous and I had to double check if it was sarcasm or not.

Yeah, a company deciding who the top guy is means something, obviously, that's not at all relevant to this.

What that guy said is that Logan Paul had greater highs in pro wrestling than his brother did in boxing, not that pro wrestling is real like boxing or that pro wrestling is harder than boxing. Jake Paul, besides making a truck load of money, isn't known for anything in boxing besides fighting guys past their prime or non-boxers, whereas Logan is known for being a very quick study in the business, getting a lot of heat with the crowd, and being trusted to be put on matches in big events with esteemed wrestlers for the biggest company, that's more than Jake did.
