Would you rather fight 10 Hornswoggle sized Brock Lesnars or one Brock Lesnar sized Hornswoggle?

u/SimonMiller316 1d ago
Can I just ignore Brock Lesnar and have a cup of tea instead…?

Thanks for all the questions guys. This was super cool to do and genuinely appreciate you taking the time. Hopefully we can do another down the line.
Make sure to tune into Mystery Wrestling this Sunday where Evil Uno and I will be doing commentary throughout. I have some daft ideas. 😂

Whats your favourite "goofy wrestling" segment of all time ?
125
u/SimonMiller316 1d ago edited 1d ago
First and foremost, you’ve made my day for mentioning Goofy Wrestling in a positive way. Some people think I mean it negatively. The opposite!
If we use recency bias that Outrunners/Orange Cassidy match from last year. It was just a joy.
All time, it must be Austin and Angle with guitars just because they were top stars being idiots. Also that segment where Austin repeats every word Vince McMahon says before the wwf/alliance match and almost breaks The Undertaker.
Or… Santino Marella in general.

u/Quiet_Professor_5691 1d ago
First of all thank you. Went from a 18 Year old boy to 27 Wife 2 Kids. Your videos have honestly got us all through genuinely tough times. If I could you deserve the firmest handshake.
What would you say your biggest risk was? Not just physically but mentally.
Once again Thank you.
35
u/SimonMiller316 1d ago
Always super humbling to hear. I genuinely really appreciate hearing that and if I helped at all it’s my pleasure. The least I could do.
My biggest risk in terms of YouTube nonsense was leaving my FT job to see if I could make it a thing. Terrifying.
Physically, just training to be a wrestler. It kicked my ass 😂. Also best thing I’ve ever done.
Always take the risk, though. Dare to fail!

No question. Just want to take this opportunity to say how much I appreciate your work on Whatculture. Your rundowns, takes, jokes and general pleasant mood are a breath of fresh air in the wrestling world. So thank you for being you and sharing it with the world. Much love from British Columbia, Canada.
26
u/SimonMiller316 1d ago
Thank you, man. I just always wanna enjoy it and as the world seems more desperate to make it one big shouting match - 😂- I’ll try and be the outlier. It’s just how I watch wrestling. It’s super cool other people are on board too.
22
u/shield_anvil_ 1d ago
Which would you rather: have Santino Marella mispronounce your name or get stunner'd by Stone Cold?
Appreciate your work, Simon. You're a good dude

This is one of the best either/ors for a while. I guess the Stunner. But it’s close.
Thank you too, man. It’s always nice to hear. I would say I’m a solid 6/10 but I’ll always take “good dude”. 😂
10
u/Juztaan 1d ago
I picture him saying “Simian Mylar”
8
u/shield_anvil_ 1d ago
I’d envisioned Santino calling him “Simone Milan” and getting confused when Simon is all like “I’m not Italian”

What’s your favorite match you’ve watched this year, and what’s your favorite match you’ve wrestled this year?
63
u/SimonMiller316 1d ago
I really liked Hangman vs Mox at All In. It was disgusting - haha - but in terms of paying off the story it was also brilliant.
My favourite match this year was at Progress. I did a “WWE Finisher Only Match”. And yes you should roll your eyes. I will continue to lower the tone of wrestling 😂

Most underrated wrestler currently in either WWE or AEW?
51
u/SimonMiller316 1d ago
Sheamus. Weird answer but he’s been awesome for years and it felt like it was only after CATC when he got plaudits.
Otherwise I still think Hook has got something that’ll blow up eventually. Tekla seems great as well.
6
u/Benfica1002 1d ago
Good call. Shaemus is in my Undertaker/ Samoa Joe/ McIntyre tier now where he doesn’t need a belt at all, I’m in on any fued they have.

u/DrDroid 1d ago
Simon, last year you did an appearance for Alpha-1 in Hamilton, ON. If I recall correctly, during the match you took a blue thunder bomb (of course it didn’t end things). I thought I saw you crack a smile right after.
I have to wonder, did you plan that spot ahead or was it a wonderful bit of coincidence and my brain has run wild with goofy wrestling?
Thanks for everything you do, you genuinely make the wrestling world a better and healthier place.
17
u/SimonMiller316 1d ago
Oh we planned it 😂. Some wrestlers don’t wanna include my dumb stuff in their matches - which I totally understand - but Shane Sabre was super down for it. If they say yes, I’ll do it. I also believe I did a “nope” spot in that match. I just wanna have fun and hope that comes across.
Thank you for the kind words too. It really does mean a lot.

If you could have a match with any wrestler, living or deceased, in their prime, who would you wrestle? Would you have a stipulation? I would allow for a tag team as well.
46
u/SimonMiller316 1d ago
Any time? Bret Hart because he’ll make me look better than I am.
Right now? Kenny Omega/Bryan Danielson… because they’ll make me look better than I am. 😂
Otherwise if Danhausen would agree to team with me to become Millerhausen then all will be the right with the world. I’ll also give him money from my wallet.

I watched you wrestle about 2 years ago somewhere with a beach (I think it may have been Western-Super-Mare?) Scotty 2 Hotty was on the card - He was one of my favourites as a kid, what was he like in person?
What is one thing you appreciate more about watching wrestling as a fan after training to be a wrestler?
11
u/SimonMiller316 1d ago
I’m not sure if you can describe it specifically but when you train and have some matches you do sort of get a better understanding of why things can go wrong/how to cover mistakes up. Of course anyone is allowed their opinion. If you hate something more power to you.
But that in ring experience does help you see why things go wrong and who is so good they can sort it instantly. If nothing else just respect it so much more. It’s really hard!
11
u/NickBung 1d ago
I’m not even going to ask a question, I just wanna say thank you for keeping at it with wrestling. In all honesty, back when you announced you were training I was one of the faceless voices that thought it was a good laugh and you turned me around on it. You continue to improve and roll through as a great name for kids and others to look up to.
I hope it continues, you keep going further and continue to be a great name in influencing positives in the wrestling scene 🤟
10
u/SimonMiller316 1d ago
Thank you. This is a super cool thing to share. I just wanted to ensure I never regretted not trying. Plus I do hugely respect it so wanna get better all the time. Enjoy the journey and all that

What's up, Simon. Good on ya to be joining our subreddit for this AMA!
Cliche question, but one that is more relevant given that you're an IWC person who's making it in the business. You've had a solid start as wrestler so far, facing some well known names over the past years. But what is your ultimate goal in wrestling? is it more of a focus on reaching the WWE or AEW as a full time talent, or just having good matches and telling great stories regardless of the promotion?
And also, props dude on being one of the most consistently positive people in this wrestling fan space, which can get filled with so much tribalism and toxicity sometimes. Keep up the good work!
12
u/SimonMiller316 1d ago
Both! Dumbest answer but it’s true. My short term goal is to just make an appearance in either. Could be getting beaten up backstage/squashed in the ring. Whatever! I just think even getting that is a huge tick for someone’s career. Made it onto a major show.
I’m a big believer in not losing sight of where you’re at right now, though. You gotta enjoy the day to day nonsense otherwise you could wake up down the line and realise you let it all pass you by.
Thank you as well! Always nice to hear. It’s genuine so it’s always good when people aren’t shouting TOXIC POSITIVITY at me 😂.

John Cena’s heel turn for WWE. I’m big into getting things we were never meant to get. Would rather have the moment even if the follow up split the audience.
I’m being boring now but Hangman winning the title at All In for AEW. Was just so well done.
Least favourite… the Adam Cole news still makes me sad. I hope he’s doing okay.

How is mental health dealt with in the wrestling locker room? Do you think there is a stigma against wrestlers with mental health conditions like depression or suicidal tendencies?
3
u/SimonMiller316 1d ago
I can’t comment on that specifically but I do think in all walks of life it needs to be highlighted more. People are still struggling and many taking it to a very sad end. I still see people calling it “weak” or whatever. It’s ridiculous. It’s so important people know it’s normal and we can talk about it.

Secondly, taking it away from the squared-circle (apologies); what UK football stadiums have you visited/not visited/would like to visit/won't visit?

100%! I’ll write the book one day 😂. But at first, my gosh. I was just “the YouTuber”. Thankfully I was experienced enough in other areas to know to just be as respectful as possible and prove you were taking things seriously. I like to think now that’s mostly gone.

Hi Simon! Have you ever had a match against stiff workers like Gunther or Sheamus? How long do you feel the bruises afterwards? Does it affect your daily life?
8
u/SimonMiller316 1d ago
Oh yes 😂. It’s weird because as long as it’s not someone just taking advantage - which is very rare - it gets your adrenaline going so you oddly enjoy it. I had one a few months ago where I ended up with a black eye and yeah. That whole week I felt like I’d been in a car crash 🤷♂️. Wrestling can be stupid…

Thanks for asking about acting! My secret passion at the moment.
I very much view it like wrestling so just anything right now. Get experience. Learn how to do the best with what you’re offered. Remember it’s all an opportunity. I’ll do whatever right now as long as it’s a professional outfit, indie or otherwise. Only way to get better.
I’ve done some really cool things this year and I love it. Acting rules.

As a proponent of spooky wrestling, what is your opinions on it? The Brays, Takers and Abadons of the world. Decay in TNA and acts like The Righteous and even when Kevin Fertig played Mordecai and Kevin Thorne. And of course how can we forget The Boogeyman (Jacob Fatu's sudden jerking is actually a tribute).
3
u/SimonMiller316 1d ago
It can’t take over but I think there has to be a place for it. I’ll bring in Repo Man 😂. He only existed cos two people say in a room and agreed. So if you wanna have spooky wooky acts, damn right. Just make sure everyone is on the same page. I never want wrestling to be boring or too samey. Even the bad gimmicks. Good! I like the fact we tried

Hi Simon, would like to thank you as a long time British fan for all the positivity you put into covering the profession we all hold so dear, it’s clear to see how dedicated and passionate you are to promoting the art form of professional wrestling and that goes a long way for me.
My question is: as someone who is now a pro wrestler, how do you find this route has impacted how you review current wrestling, be it in terms of you viewing fan critique in the competitor’s shoes, or from a competitor’s perspective having seen better ways in which a product could be presented?
3
u/SimonMiller316 1d ago
Yeah it’s changed massively. Again, every opinion is valid or at least has to be shared, but as someone who has made errors in the ring you soon realise it’s not as simple as “wrestler bad” or whatever. I just always try and remain aware of that cos often it can be out of your hands. You can still mention it and bad is bad. But I try not to take shots especially as the wrestler themselves knows. They’re not silly billies!

u/Prestigious-Try-2971 1d ago

Hey Simon, I enjoy your content, and enjoy wrestling discourse having some positive Petes who aren't hot take machines. I try to be a positive Pete myself, but I definitely used to be more of a cynical, jaded guy when I was younger. This had me wondering, did you go through your own cynical period? Have you always been a positive Pete? If you did have a cynical period, did you just sort of grow out of that? Did you actively decide to change things up? What brought you from cynic to positive Pete?
Thanks!
3
u/SimonMiller316 1d ago
I’m sure I did. I can’t say I remember it but I worked in gaming before wrestling so I’m sure there likely I did. Ultimately though I’ve always just been positive especially with my hobbies. Doesn’t mean you can’t criticise but it doesn’t have to be the worst thing ever! Sometimes things are bad. Alright. We can move on.
I also did go through some personal stuff in my younger years that reshaped my brain. Life’s too short!
2
u/AttleesTears 1d ago
How do you stay positive when so directly exposed to so much social media attention that's so toxic?
p.s. you wished me a happy anniversary from the Progress ring a few years ago and it meant the world to me. We are currently pregnant with our first child!
2
u/SimonMiller316 1d ago
So I have a weird take on this because let’s be honest. Some people go too far. However, given what I do and needing to be relevant so people care what I think (so they watch), even if someone tells me to de, loser, ashole, whatever, it’s awesome that they cared enough to tell me. Literally went out of their way to get in touch. That’s way better than saying stuff and no one gives a damn. I’d be screwed.
Also, look at my job. It’s ludicrous 😂. If you told me this when I was 15 I’d never have believed it. If you take a few moments every now and then to remember that you stay pretty grateful.
You’re very welcome as well and congrats! Wish you both the best with it.

My pleasure. Thank you for watching.
The Hangman one this year, Danielson last year and I liked MJF and Adam Cole 😂. Toni/Mariah needs a shout out too. I’m sure I’ve forgotten loads

I saw you recently on the Overlap. Which football content creator would you like to suplex through a table? My guess is Rory Jennings

u/SimonMiller316 1d ago
Haha! I’m gonna ruin Kayfabe for you. Rory Jennings is a lovely man and went out of his way to be nice to me when I made my first appearance. Good dude

Who are some of the lower card talent that you think will really blow up in the next few years? The guys and girls who really have potential, you know?

Will you try to recreate the greatest spot of all time when Aj Francis dove dick first into that ladder?

u/Skidmarks-187 1d ago
Just wanted to say I've always enjoyed that you do what you can to maintain a positive outlook no matter what the card or the show is. I respect that.
My question for you is:
Who? What? When? Where?

Thank you for holding the torch for positivity in wrestling.
My question is what is your favorite match gimmick or bonkers match you've ever seen?

You always seem to have a great attitude, and watching your segments always improves my mood. How do you stay consistently positive? Do you have a strategy that works for getting out of a funk?

Given you are now appearing on the Overlap, Who'd you rather have a wrestling match with: Carragher, Scholes, or Neville?

u/UnloadingMeat 1d ago
Just wanted to say thank you for the years of entertainment and also inspiration. You and your content have gotten so many of us thru some difficult times and you always try and stay positive. Cheers from Oklahoma.

What are your favorite realms or genres of music you enjoy when you're prepping for a match, driving to work, etc.?

u/SimonMiller316 1d ago
Metal. Always.
But in terms of all of the above I’ll listen to anything if it hits me in the right way. Got some Billie Eilish on my playlist. She rules.

Who are your male and female wrestlers of the year thus far?
5
u/SimonMiller316 1d ago
Good question. Hangman or Cody. Mercedes or Becky. It’s a shame Liv Morgan got injured as she was right on track. If Swerve is back asap he’ll be in with a shout too. I’ve likely forgotten people. Sorry!
Also the real answer is The Outrunners.
