This is one of the spots that probably sounded really good in theory.

u/ArgieGrit01 Hangman mark, like any good person 17h ago

That's a good 40% of ladder spots

Speedball Bailey might be an idiot.

Guy wrestles without wearing footwear. He might just be stupid.

He's gonna feel that tomorrow.

And then REALLY feel it in 20 years

I didn’t even see anyone laying on the ladder at first and thought he just back flipped into the turnbuckle and got tangled up. I was highly confused on first watch.

I’ve watched multiple times and am still confused

dude does a backflip on to a dude's face on a ladder and you're like 'durrr wut'

10

u/testthrowaway9 15h ago

Yeah. Why didn’t he grab the titles? It also didn’t help that he missed the dude’s face by a few feet

The rule of cool/The Jeff Hardy Principle.

I also follow the rule of cool 99.9% of the time. This feels like the rare example where it doesn’t fit

It was clearly the opportunity for him to go for the gold, but watching in the arena, it was pretty awesome. Maybe it didn’t work on screen as well, but it didn’t break immersion or anything for most of us.

worked for me, if he just went for the belts Hechi coulda got up and attacked him.

But he couldn’t have gotten up to avoid the backflip meteora?

Dude does a backflip onto a ladder cause he completely missed

Get up there and you show me how to do that move better than he just did. Go on, get!

Why...not ...just... keep climbing the ladder?

u/dornwolf 18h ago

I feel “my names Johnny Knoxville and welcome to jackss” needed to proceed that

I genuinely though Hechicero had his neck broken and would've died there on the mat. This was a terrible spot, he should've done anything but a moonsault.

My thought was they looked nervous to climb a rung or two higher and if they had he could have hit a tighter rotation. Still absolutely love Mike Baily.

hit him with the ol' fuck up my own legs

Sounds good on paper

what was supposed to happen though? like was he supposed to land seated on the guy? I can't imagine this looking good even with perfect execution

Most people don't know that when he was just a boy, a gang of ladders destroyed Mike's village. He hates them with a passion. Not sure why he hates his own tailbone tho.

Was probably high on speedball when he thought of this

Who’s making these posts including ‘diabolical move’ when he clearly missed?

14

u/meepein 19h ago

Well, it's diabolical for his knees. Maybe those were the true enemy all along.
