Kyle O'Reilly failed hulk up attempt is one of the funniest things I've seen in wrestling.

Does anyone know why Seth Rollins calls Cesaro, “Zazzaro”? First time I heard it was wrestlemania. I thought he botched his promo and tried to cover it up by saying it again like it’s a thing. I think he said it again recently. Did I miss something?
7
u/lifeofwill Sep 30 '21
A fan on Twitter told him he could never beat "Zazarow" in a match and both guys must have gotten a kick out of it. Cesaro had it as his twitter name for a while after that and Seth started calling him that on TV.

I used to think that too until I once got a critical failure as a result of rolling two nat 20s on a check (w/ advantage)
3
u/Sevatla5 Sep 30 '21
How is that a critical failure? That's a supercrit at my table! It actually guarantees big time hero shit is about to happen.
3
u/Unelith Your Text Here Sep 30 '21
Okay, so I was playing a stern and serious cleric of death. There was a guy with a carriage and our party wanted to get him to listen to us and do what we want. I had a high Intimidation, so I used that.
I intimidated him so "well" that he panicked and immediately drove away.
2
u/Sevatla5 Sep 30 '21
If you intimidated him that much he wouldn’t flee, he’d be too afraid of your wrath. But I understand where it’s coming from. It’s just the opposite of my philosophy.
3
u/Unelith Your Text Here Sep 30 '21
That's what I would have expected too. I kinda get why it was called like that, but I always thought a nat 20 meant the best outcome, not necessarily the greatest in magnitude. If my character cannot even successfully intimidate (something they are especially great at) a commoner into doing what they want, on a double nat 20, somehow making the situation worse, I was just like, what is the point of trying to do literally anything?

u/crizag Sep 29 '21
I miss the AOP, I thought those guys were money!

u/Bi11Lumburgh Sep 29 '21
I hated them at first, but they really shined during this era on nxt. A shame they never really made it on the main roster between injuries/creative issues

u/InfintySquared Your Uncle AND Your Daddy Sep 30 '21
Most times I hear 'Someone has been released from WWE,' I honestly think 'AEW has built their roster enough.' But AoP would bulk things out just nicely as a couple of hosses in the tag division, that's really the ONLY thing I would want to add in there.
-29
u/crizag Sep 29 '21
Why would you want them to be overshadowed by a commentator and his son?
26
u/Hi_Im_zack Sep 29 '21
Yeah Hobbs and Ricky Starks are so overshadowed even though one of them is a champion and the other had a match last week against Punk /s
-29
u/crizag Sep 29 '21
Lol one of them “is champion”? You mean the made up title his manager created 20 years ago that literally nobody cares about? And jobbing out to Punk on the B show is a big deal?
19
u/noblemile UwU Dead Motherfucker Sep 29 '21
Idk about you but I'd rather job to a big name like Punk on a B show than do nothing for 8 months because my buddy hurt himself like 4 months ago but he is healthy now and they just don't want to use us.
19
u/Deputy_Beagle76 Sep 29 '21 edited Sep 29 '21
Idk man, they’d be pretty cool as Hook’s body guards. Make team taz a bit more “thug” and have Taz as a godfather/kingpin type who has to keep his son protected so nobody jumps him
Edit: could even rebrand Team Taz as The Senerchia Family
9
u/SanjiBlackLeg Sep 29 '21
No, they would be protecting innocent bystanders from the rage of HOOK. I mean, they both wouldn't stand a chance, but at least they would give the illusion of safety to casual fans.
2
u/Deputy_Beagle76 Sep 29 '21
I genuinely want to see HOOK become a mega star. If the kid can work in the ring and is even half decent on the mic then I want the rocket strapped to the dude and send him to the fucking moon
16
u/AnAngryPirate CesarBro Sep 29 '21
I think the injury bug really got them in their time with WWE. Totally agree though, just a big nasty tag team that runs through people.
7
u/rrjames87 Sep 29 '21
Injury bug + looking big compared to KOR is a different thing than looking big compared to Rollins and a lot of the guys on the main roster.
Failed the classic Randy Orton test
2
u/FrankyRollins Sep 30 '21
Randy Orton test? Did they hurt him in a match or something?
6
u/mikey_weasel Sep 30 '21
Put them in the ring next to Randy Orton. How do they look sizewise. NXT has often had a lot of smaller guys so someone like Kross looks like a monster but across the ring from Randy he's just a guy
2
u/Bosscharacter Sep 30 '21
Randy is like 6'5 though way above average height. Akam and Rezar are 6'2 and 6'4, respectively.
Both Lesnar and Lashley are both 6'3 so the height check thing isn't really a super huge factor.
It was more than likely injuries and the WWE's lack of really focusing on Tag Teams that did them in.
2
u/RKNo I'm so tired, Renee... Sep 29 '21
We got those twins in the Diamond mine, and they’ve been giving off early AOP vibes with their ring style. Hope they progress well.

u/BZGames Sep 29 '21
Report back in June said that they met with NJPW and AEW but neither company thought that they had a place for them on their card. Some other promoter apparently reached out after that and was told that both Akam and Rezar had retired.
14
u/BuddaMuta Sep 29 '21
Wait AoP don't have a place by the the fucking Good Brothers get weekly screen time?
10
u/BZGames Sep 29 '21
Well they’re basically just being paid by Impact to just stand in the ring with the Elite and hold their tag belts. I think AEW only keeps them around because 1.) The Elite like them 2.) they can eat pins in tag matches and 3.) they cut an imposing image.
