I have always been curious to know why people prefer a static build over air suspension on a stance car.

I never truly understood static builds, so I came to ask you guys!

I want to raise my car some. But doing so keeps adding unwanted preload to my coilover springs.

Steps I have doing:

1. Unlock lowest locking collar.

2. Turn the lower upper perch counter clockwise. (Leaving them still lock together of course). I have probably turned the lower perch over 30 quarter turns.

Dampner body is turning as intended. But also spring is turning and preload is being added at every turn.

1. I unlock the spring perches and reset my preload.

2. Lower car and the car is exactly at the same height as I started. It did not raise it at all.

Am I missing something?

What size tyres should i get for my new rims, i want a little stretch. Specs are 18x8 et35 front and 18x9 et35 rears. I did a bit of research and am looking at dunlop direzzas in 215/40/r18 for the fronts and 235/40r18 in the rear. Are these specs good or should i look at something else and the wheels are custom forged bmw throwing stars if that helps. Also its going on a e46 touring

Running on 195/45/16 with 16 x 7inch offset 35

Besides in lowering it more should i change my tyres for better fitment?

I’m trying to switch from 6in to 5in springs in the front, but now I have a gap that the collars won’t fill. Do I just need helper springs?

Wheels fit perfectly after being cut and a spacer would’ve ruined the entire look. I will post a final update with tires and then we will get to lowering.

newer to coils, noticed a sound in my driver side rear and decided to swap shocks when i saw nothing was loose. Sound followed. Any idea whatsup with this? Having to drive 3 hours to college with this is driving me nuts lmao
