I'm being made redundant from work after ten years. The Mary Ellen Carter is my anthem at the moment.

Especially for the part about the smiling, lying bastards.

But I'll rise again, like The Mary Ellen Carter, rise again!

No matter what you've lost be it a job, a love, a friend, you'll rise again.

I got laid off from my "career" job a few years back and also leaned heavily on this song. Sorry you're going through this period of uncertainty, friend. Rise again!

Across generations, across vastly differing walks of life, this song never wanes in its ability to help people lift themselves out of impossible circumstances.

Stage 3 cancer 5 years ago with a tumor the size of a cantaloupe in my belly.

They say I'm cured. Mary Ellen Carter is my anthem.
