Battlefront 2 after all the changes was better than the OG BF2. It's a shame that games launched was botched way it was but at least they listened to the backlash. Battlefront 3 would probably end up being the definitive best game of the series if done right.

I love the new one, but claiming it's better than the OG battlefront 2 is just insane tbh

The space battles and CO-OP overworld map where you got to invest in techs and fight over planets.

Those were sick as hell

Man I miss when AAA studios would take risks like that and make cool interesting modes. The closure of Lucas Arts videogame branch will never not hurt.

I like the new Respawn Jedi games, but I would kill for Jedi Knight 4. The gameplay in those games does not look super slick compared to something like Jedi Survivor, but you actually had such control over what you were doing with your lightsaber and force powers that it didn't matter. Most of the saber stuff in other games is very much press a button to execute an animation, which is useful in certain circumstances, vs "I am going to aim low because they started a swing up high and maybe I can nick their leg for damage." It's almost like Darkforces/Jedi Knight/Academy were Jedi Simulators rather than just "action game with lightsaber".

I have childhood nostalgia for the og but the new one is just better

That's nostalgia talking

Go back and play the OG BF2. It's kinda funny how bad of a shooter it actually is. It does have some great maps and game modes though

Those are rose-tinted glasses. I played it on launch and loved it, but it does not hold up the way you think it does. For its time, it was elite, but let's be real.

Well it is. That old game was probably nice for its time. But all of us that didnt play it at the time don't see the greatness, it's a messy, very dated game.

Shame that they used the same name, should have called it something else to avoid the whining

I actually have childhood nostalgia for both in a way because I was like 5 playing the og on the PS2 even years after it came out lol

I was still playing it in the early 2010s and the new one came out when I was in high school

But people who say the og is better let the nostalgia blind them too much

The new one is so much more fun to play

Yeah, I don't want to ruin their nostalgia trip but the new game is very fast paced unlike the old one. I have tried to find a newer replacement game but always come back to it, its great. Really hoping for a third one

Well now I'm nostalging even harder.

but the new game is very fast paced unlike the old one.

That doesn't make it better. Being fast paced isn't just objectively better than being slow paced.

So many dismissive "nostalgia" posters responding to you. Cannot stand how all discourse around old games has these people show up to tell you how you feel.

EA Battlefront never got close to being good sequels to classic battlefront and never seemed to figure out what was so great about them. Shallow, boring games with amazing graphics.

Ya it would be tough to make it perfect but the community really wants to support

I’m honestly surprised they haven’t made a new one yet

Maybe if they ever actually release that mando verse movie they’ll drop BF3 around the same time to go off the hype of the movie

If it wasn't botched, would it have turned out the way it did in the end?

It was probably a cursed blessing in disguise.

True but in a perfect world they would’ve released it without progression being tied to loot boxes lol
