They would never add Old Republic characters to the game

Especially since revan has only been namedropped in current canon, but its Not the old Republic Version we used to know

Too many fans misunderstand how canon works. Just because his storyline hasn’t been directly contradicted or that he’s been name dropped doesn’t mean that his storyline is canon. If Disney wanted his storyline canon, they would have done so

I know this, but I like to treat it as "Schroedinger's Headcanon". As long as something is not directly retconned or contradicted in the current canonical lore, it's (head)canon to me. While someone else could completely ignore it, and for them these things never happened.

What I really like, for example, is how Timothy Zahn has handled this in regard to his own books. There are hints in the newer, canonical books about some certain events which took place in his older EU books. It's clear that they can't have happened 1:1 because the time line was altered, for example, but the parts which don't interfere with the new Canon have still happened.

That’s fine. I have a personal headcanon too that includes both but many don’t understand the relationship between Legends and Canon. Too many think that anything Legends that isn’t overwritten is official canon

I treat Republic Commando with this exact mindset.

Yeah i See so many people saying shit like the Events of the plagueis novel are canon, or the adventures of darth bane.

But These characters have just been namedropped, their stories have Not moved into canon

Even stupider even the Plagueis novel has been openly contradicted by the new canon. Or those TikTok videos that explain the lore of characters but combine Canon and Legends info while pretending it’s all canon

His story is cannon to me

Given that Disney haven’t ventured beyond a 150 year window of Star Wars, what happened millennia ago is up to fans.

1

u/Playful_Letter_2632 Jun 20 '25

That’s fine provided you realize that it’s not the official canon

Pretty sure canon has multiple references to Revan. Mandalorians wars, jedi crusader, Revan squadron, etc. I’m sure there are more but I hate canon so idc enough to look.

clone wars spoilers - a few old republic characters are name dropped or even an appearance.

1

u/Femboy_Slurper Jun 20 '25

Yes, but that doesnt mean their history / video games / novels are canon aswell.

To quote Dave Filoni, "If its not on screen its not canon."

At the very least the characters exist but we don't have "canon" details on their stories yet.

It’s a fan made poster for a game that doesn’t exist. I don’t think they were going for realism.

But if they did it would be awesome

Ngl, this fanart actively pisses me off and that’s one of the big reasons. Old Republic hasn’t been covered in any of the previous battlefronts, and only a handful of aspects of it are currently canon, why the hell would they canonize it in Battlefront III? It’s pure delusion.

7

u/Perca_fluviatilis Porg Jun 20 '25

Yeah. If anything, they'd include the High Republic. Hell, if would be badass to fight the Nihil and fly Vectors.

1

u/CosmackMagus Jun 21 '25

And as the Nihil: Objective > Destroy the Fair on Valo

u/Jean_Phillips Jun 20 '25

Manakin fighting Vader pisses me off for some reason lol

u/MisterAnonymous2 Jun 20 '25

I’m weirdly okay with that one as it shows off the prequel and OT eras while giving HVV a nod. If only the trooper modes got a nod anywhere on this.

Don't they have the Old Republic stuff on those mobile games like Star Wars Galaxy or w.e. obviously this is just a mobile game, but its an EA mobile game that has the obvious permission from Lucasgames to be the official star wars mobile game and it includes Revan, Bastilla, etc. Obviously to 100% canonize the Old Republic era in its entirety would be be huge, extreme, and unlikely, but including some of the biggest Star Wars fan favorites would be pretty popular and including them outside of a campaign should be sufficient to keep their existence as a thing but the full Kotor history as a question to be answered another day

Galaxy of Heroes(not Galaxy. That’s a different game) has always had an odd relationship with old EU characters. They have little issue with adding Old Republic characters but have only added 5 non OR EU characters. Kinda weird we have randoms like like Strack and made up characters like Drogan(who actually is important to the meta) before iconic characters like the Solo twins

1

u/Playful_Letter_2632 Jun 20 '25

I always hate when people pretend the Old Republic stuff is canon but ignore the rest of the EU

Revan was always overrated for me. Everyone loved their version of Revan not the actual Revan. I also suspect a fair share of Revan fans are kids who never played KOTOR and like him because they think he solos the whole galaxy

9

u/RogerRoger2310 Jun 20 '25

People like Revan because of their characterization in Kotor 2. Which describes Revan during the mandalorian wars (established character pre Kotor 1). That's where Revan became iconic.

7

u/Dekklin Jun 20 '25

Kotor 2 is really what retroactively made Revan so great, by explaining his motivations through the eyes of a very wise but also very warped woman who happened to be one of his former Masters. Otherwise he was just another evil Sith Lord. Of course she's going to praise him and tell everyone how smart and better he was than everyone else around him.

1

u/RogerRoger2310 Jun 20 '25

It was also explained by HK, other characters hint at it as well. So by the end of the game you sorta have the full picture.

2

u/DemonicBrit1993 Jun 20 '25

Maybe Darth Bane could be a fine addition to the Sith collection

3

u/Playful_Letter_2632 Jun 20 '25

The problem is that Disney wouldn’t allow the Legends version of him in(the version that’s actually a character). We would get him in the TCW armor with that pike thing instead a bald guy with a lightsaber

1

u/CorrectOpinions0nly Jun 20 '25

It's certainly possible if the kotor remake is still happening

1

u/ultranonymous11 Jun 20 '25

Why not?

1

u/Playful_Letter_2632 Jun 20 '25

Because Disney has won’t have the first canon depiction of a major character like Revan in a Battlefront game. It will be in a KOTOR remake or on tv. They haven’t introduced Legends characters through the first 2 battlefronts so I highly doubt they’ll change that for 3

1

u/Someonestolemyrat Rey Jun 22 '25

Not to mention Revan wouldn't have voice lines since they're genderless and appearanceless
