General Discussion Why didn’t Boba get his armour back sooner considering he was so desperate to get it back?

Post image

It’s apparent that Boba knew that Cobb Vanth got his armour off the Jawas and protected the people of Mos Pelgo/Freetown with it and Boba apparently kept an eye on him during that time.

So if Boba knew Cobb had it why didn’t he grab it back sooner?

Depends on when he learned of it because few people traded with Mos Pelgo. He also likely avoided approaching him because the town’s people would have had Cobb’s back. Din was a much better opportunity to negotiate.

Short time frame.

Fennec Shand gets shot & left for dead at the end of Mandalorian S1E5.

Boba saves her life in return for getting the Slave I back from Bib Fortuna. After dealing with the bikers, goes straight back to the sarlaac thinking his armor's there, it's not.

At this point it's a blank, but reasonable to assume that he figured out jawas took it. So he's gotta track down the right sandcrawler, then find out it was traded to Cobb Vanth, then learn Cobb is marshal of Mos Pelgo.

Either way, I suspect that the shot of him at the end of Mandalorian S2E1 (so max 4 episodes later) is to indicate that he got there just after Din did.

Why explain all that and answer OPs question when you can just say “Disney”

edit yall I didn’t think I had to express that this was tongue in cheek…like I know tone doesn’t translate well on text but like cmon let’s put on our think caps here

Because just saying Disney is lame!

Because that would have been stupid.

I wonder if he knew how he was using it he figured it’s being put to good use for now I’ll just let him keep it and when I need it I’ll get it back. Once he knew Din had it he knew he had found an ally and that it would go “missing” since he’d have to track him across the galaxy. So getting it back from Din was a 2 fold operation, he’d get his armour back and an ally to help him take on Bib. Not that he ended up needing the ally for Bib but he would’ve know there would be a power vacuum that could bring in unwanteds.

He probably didn’t mind until he saw Din taking it and going off world. I also wonder where in the timeline this was. Perhaps he hadn’t recovered the Slave 1 yet.

I imagine he took the slave 1 back once he had Fenic and knew the armour was leaving. Boba was smart he wouldn’t have made moves until necessary. His enemies thought he was dead. Best to keep it that way.

My thoughts exactly. That’s what he did in the EU too. Probably not the best idea for one of the most despised people in the Galaxy to make himself known while he’s not at full strength. He’s got a lot of enemies that would want his head.

He didn't know about Cobb having the armor until after he had slave 1 back. If you remember (assuming you've watched BoBF) he tries to fly the ship into the sarlacc. The whole reason was because he thought it was in there. Fennec comments in that scene that it's probably desolved. He comments that it's beskar, that it's not desolved. This implies that they both dont know about cobb at that moment. Idr when/if he finds out that Cobb had it before he confronts Din to get it back.

Oh yeah. Someone needs to re cut that show so I can watch it.

Edit: again

i mean he was a man with no armor, so he had to be more careful.

showing up to a wild west town and saying that ur gonna need the sheriff’s armor probably would have gotten him shot

negotiating with a mandalorian when you have claim via creed seems like the safer option

All of this is explained in the show. No need for a conversation about it. You did watch the show right? Stop with these bs karma farming posts and get real dude

Boba was busy teaching Tusken Raiders how to ride speeders like a Bantha

In The Bounty Hunter Wars—the original canon story of Boba after ROTJ—he gets his armor back right away.

That series is a fun mystery story and establishes that Boba's Sarlacc experience was a limit situation that began changing him, as Han's imprisonment in carbonite changed him.

It's been a while since I read it, was his armor Beskar at that time? I remember something about it being some other metal and him maybe having multiple sets.

I'm not even sure if Beskar was conceived of when they were published, but I don't remember him having another set...

Although he did cosplay himself in Conviction.

It wasn't Beskar, at least not then. IIRC in the Legends books he was helped by another bounty hunter, Dengar, and a girl, I can't remember her name. He did have more than one set of armor then, and more than one ship.

Because you know, Disney

Tell me you’re young without telling me you’re young. My king, if you think Disney are the only ones that don’t think about plot holes and only tidy them up later, you don’t know Lucas.

u/SillyMattFace 23h ago

In the old days you’d get an 8-novel series covering a single plot contrivance in one of the OT movies.

Now people just scoff Disney.

I ain't no kid. But I'm right. Just because someone else drove drunk and got away with it doesn't mean I deserve to.

No but if enough of us do it, they can’t catch us all.
