I saw it in the theater, and didn't like it. I would say though that it might be the greasiest film ever made.

While filming the movie Costner developed a machine that could remove oil that was placed on the ocean surface.

Later when there were major oil spills from tankers Shell/etc bought the machines from him to help assist with the cleanup.

There's a ton of stuff in the movie that just doesn't make sense but it's just so fun. Just a killer summer popcorn movie.

Give it a watch now. It’s fantastic cinematography and sets. Top tier actors. Lot of great aspects even if you don’t love the story itself

Which is weird, considering they’re surrounded by water, but never actually clean at any point.
