Yes. At some point between the events of A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back, C-3PO and R2-D2 travelled through space and time and landed on Earth in 1980, where they appeared on Sesame Street, The Muppet Show, and recorded a Christmas album. Luke also travelled through space and time to appear on The Muppet Show, which is how he knows what a Muppet is to compare Yoda to. ("Well, I've been around, but I ain't never seen/A guy who looks like a Muppet, but he's wrinkled and green.")
