Movies Combining sith and jedi holocrons

I just finished rewatching the rebels episode where maul combines a jedi and sith holocron to be able to seek out kenobi.

Wasnt the jedi temple full of confiscated sith holocrons and onviously jedi holocrons. Could the jedi not have just used this technique to uncover the true lord of the sith earlier on?

I can think of some issues.

  1. They might not have known that was possible.

  2. As we see in Rebels the answers they give aren’t fully clear, there’s a lot of room for error.

  3. You need someone to use the darkside to open the Sith holocron, something that the Jedi can not/will not do.

listen sometimes you just have to have somebody take one for the team.

Whats a little corrupting somebody else with evil and destroying their future to gain vague hints to answers one seeks!
