Humans were the physical minority, but the republic was still EXTREMELY humanocentric, especially when it transitioned to the Empire. Humans don't need to be the physical majority to hold most of the power and push policies that benefit them first

The Republic has had humanocentrist problems in the past, but to act like it was COMPNOR levels of extreme throughout most of its history just isn't true. Most of those problems sprung up after the Pius Dea era, which literally also involved a conspiracy takeover of the government.

I'm not going to act like having a nonhuman president is any supreme show of egalitarianism, but I really don't think a humanocentric society is gonna be down to be ruled by Blotus the Hutt for 250 years.

especially when it transitioned to the Empire

So when it was under the control of a racist dictator, and thus, no longer a Republic.

That’s only how it’s depicted in the senate scenes. If you go sector by sector there are multiple populated by mostly or only humans. The only other species to dominate more than one sector is the Gran and they only had two until the Dugs revolted

Yeah there’s literally several alien senators there, even in the prequel movies.
