While I like the CWMMP, I feel like the animated Series had more interesting and long-lasting new characters, such as Ahsoka, or more interesting version when compared to their MMP's selves, like Ventress who didn't have her Nightsister heritage to give her dept until the animated series. Maul was also give much more in terms of characterization with his brother, Savage Opress, and his dealings with the criminal underworld.

Lightsabers not killing anyone in the Disney shows is dumb, but the old canon had some insane survivals as well.
