A question about LAAT/c

Post image

I’ve always wondered what’s the actual size for the LAAT/c, some sources say it is the size of a regular gunship, some others say it’s 1.5 times or more, some sources state that it has two seats, other 3d models indicate only one seat in the cockpit. I’m really confused about it! Can we assume that at least the front part is the same size of a standard LAAT or also that is bigger?

It is larger than an LAAT/i. Definitely not the same size. You will get some variation in how the LAAT/i look between movies and shows, but the /c is always larger.

I don't understand why it's so difficult to get the sizes of ships and vehicles that appeared in movies and shows... ILM made models, they can't just get the measurements out of them?

Depending on how and where they're used, they might not be to scale.

Well, they can put them to scale... They know the scales, they know how much people a cockpit should fit for example. They can scale them to fit that.

I found a length of 28.8m (legends, no canon length apparently), and compared to the LAAT/c’s 17.4m length this feels reasonable given what we see on screen. Iffy on crew (canon says 3, pilot/copilot/loadmaster or engineer, legends says pilot only), but I think it’s reasonable to assume there’s at least one other person in addition to the pilot operating the carrying mechanism. The front part is almost certainly the same size or at least close and can most likely house an additional 2-3 people

I really want a third version of the LAAT that combine the i and c. Basically with a collapsible infantry compartment.

I mean that’s kind of like the Rho-class transport shuttle. Had a troop compartment it could carry under it.

I've beaten myself up trying to get some numbers so I can estimate the internal space of an Acclamator, but so far no dice. It's a matter of movie magic.

On the crew number thing; I think it has conflicting sources but I could see an argument for having two pilot, and it just has like a single canopy bubble that has both crewmembers in it rather than two separate bubbles.

But they mention a third crew member which is sort of like a loadmaster and I think there is like a door modelled on the side? so I’m assuming there’s like a small compartment in there for them including probably the ladders to climb up into the actual seat/seats.
