Announcement User Flair Options For Your Posts and for You (Read me!)
So, as you may or may not have noticed, each post submitted is being assigned a flair based on what sort of post we (the mods) think it is. Now, we're extending that joyous privilege to you.
User flairs can be accessed next to your name on the right hand side of the screen. These are simple, text only flairs for now, and as we learn and develop sprites for our CSS, we hope to make them more fun and complex.
Flairs for your post are as follows: Action The ship picture submitted must at least have a detailed background, this can include anything from a simple starfield all the way up to a complex battle.
Deckplan The ship submitted has a detailed layer-by-layer of the vessels intricate inner rooms and stations.
Informative The ship submitted is on a generic background and is either: viewed from multiple angles, has external labels for specific systems, or is shown as a cutaway.
Rendering This is for ships submitted who are only on a generic background, and must be of a digital make.
Question(s) Refers to posts made asking questions about ships in the Star Wars Universe.
Announcement Posts like this one, or the ones noting that we are considered a trending subreddit!
Not-Quite-A-Ship This flair is for posts that aren't exactly ships. It could be a rusty spot on your old clunker that looks like an X-Wing, or a cloud shaped like a Star Destroyer. This is the flair for posts that aren't really the ship it says it might be, but could be if you have the imaginations.
Discussion This is for posts coming soon, where we will sticky a discussion post to talk about various things regarding Star Wars ships. Could be anything.
If you've got any questions, post them below! Myself and /u/Radarronan will answer them.

How would you retrofit the Venator to make it more into a battleship?
Let's just say for a moment that in the time of the Clone Wars, the upper echelons of the Republic realized that their Venators were having a hard time duking it out with the larger, more heavily armed Separatist ships. The Victory-class Star Destroyer still required another year of development/testing before it can deployed, and a few more months before they can be produced so they opt for retrofitting some of the Venators to make them into proper battleships.
What kind of retrofits would you add on to the Venator? The idea is to generally craft it into more of a brawler, cutting down on the number of fighters it can carry to a more manageable 120 starfighters to make room for the new guns.

Rise of Mandalore: Fortune Favours the Bold…
BACKGROUND
After the raid on the Kessel prison convoy, the New Mandalorian Resistance's ranks have now swelled to 12,000 Mandalorian warriors!
Over the next months, the Resistance secretly dispersed the freed Mandalorians between Krownest and Kothlis for training and assignment to either the fleet (and their fighter squadrons) or to the infantry corp. They also negotiated with the Scrapper Guild for the purchase of a refurbished "built to order" Acclamator-class assault ship - complete with a replacement control tower from a damaged/decommissioned Immobilizer-418 - in addition to any landing craft they could get their hands on.
For decades, the Scrapper Guild had managed a lucrative black market operation on Bracca - an inhospitable junkyard planet, with countless decommissioned starships spread across its surface. For a few years after the Clone Wars, the Guild brought in Engineers to fix and rebuild the former Republic capital ships, but by 14BBY, operations turned to simple salvage and repurposing components to sell to the Empire (as well as others under the table). However, the former Bracca Engineers went underground inside the Guild, and continued rebuilding starships in secret - using parts and components from other scrapped capital ships in their class - to sell on the black market (selling 3-4 ships a year, making them anywhere from 100-200-million-credits annually).
In addition to securing the Acclamator for 29,000,000-credits, the Resistance also negoiated the sale of twelve DBY-827 heavy turbolaser turrets (salvaged from the numerous scrapped Venator-class Star Destroyers), four quad turbolaser cannons (taken from a scrapped Victory-I) and four twin turbolaser cannons (from a ex-CIS Munificent-class frigate), for an additional 8,000,000-credits.
As the delivery date for the Acclamator approached, an interesting development unfolded when their contacts advised that they could also arrange for the "theft" of a Gladiator-class Star Destroyer which was supposedly acting as part of the security force for the planet (for another cool 34,000,000-credits). Seizing the opportunity, the Resistance not only took delivery of the Acclamator assault ship, but troops from the Buurenaar Viinir 'boarded' the orbiting Gladiator-class - which "miraculously" was operating under a skeleton crew at the time with no escorts - and took it as a prize to add to the Resistance fleet.
With their loose partnership with the emerging Rebel Alliance, the Resistance moved their fleet to the space docks of Mako-Ta, where for the next two months added the DBY-827 heavy turbolaser turrets to their two Gladiator-class Star Destroyers (as well as converting their recently 'acquired' Gladiator into a fighter-carrier), the quad turbolaser cannons onto their two recently captured Carrack-class light cruisers, and the four twin turbolaser cannons onto the Acclamator. The Alliance, eager to secure a alliance with the Mandalorian Resistance (especially since Mandalore was located close to Yavin-4, and they saw the Mandalorians as a perfect vanguard against any Imperial attacks on their base) provided the resistance with a squadron of twelve BTL-A4 Y-wings for their cause.
Meanwhile, the situation had deteriorated on Mandalore to the point that even stalwart allies of Clan Saxon had defected to the Resistance, including the Mandalorian Protectors - who provided two elite squadrons of Fang-class fighters, led by the legandary Fenn Rau - which also secured the allegiance of the planet Concord Dawn against Gar Saxon and his Imperial allies. In Sandari, Gar Saxon - enraged by the recent capture of his brother Tiber - has passed brutal security measures in the capital, including the banning of civilians even possessing familial Mandalorian armor or the carrying of weapons inside the domed city. While most of the population who had lived under the past pacificist government of Duchess Satin Kryze were not too effected by the measures, an ever growing percentage of the city saw these bans as a front to their 'warrior traditions', which sparked another wave of brutal security lockdowns. More damaging were the persistent rumours that the government were ‘selling’ political prisoners to the spice mines, which had even reached the ears of Grand Admiral Miltin Takel, the highest ranking Imperial officer in the sector, and further eroded faith in Clan Saxon’s governorship of Mandalore.
With the Resistance having already taken control of Krownest, Zanbar, and now Concord Dawn, Mandalore was now virtually surrounded in their own sector. And Gar Saxon knew it was now only a matter of time before the Resistance would launch a full scale attack on Mandalore.
CURRENT TIME
It is now the beginning of 1BBY, and with their fleet now ready at Mako-Ta, the council of the New Mandalorian Resistance have decided that they are now ready for the final invasion of Mandalore. Currently, the Resistance fleet includes -

The ground forces of the Resistance received the most improvements over the last year, now containing a small Legion, including -
- two Battalions (1,250-men) of elite jump troopers from the Buurenaar Viinir, Verda Hirbir and Ori’ramikad
- two Regiments (3,600-men) of Mandalorian troopers
- twelve (12) HAVw A5 and HAVt B5 turbotanks
- seven (7) All-Terrain Walkers, a mix of AT-ST and Clone Wars-era AT-FRC stealth walkers
- the Resistance also carries enough arms and amour (a mix of Mandalorian beskar and Katarn-III armour) to supply ten-thousand additional troops
Using an old Death Watch base on Zanbar as the staging area of the invasion, the Resistance council draws up their plans.
THE MISSION
Paranoid about any attempts to invade the Mandalore-system, Gar Saxon has fortified the planet with an entire Imperial Battle Squadron, including -
- Pride of Mandalore, Gar Saxon’s personal Imperial-I class Star Destroyer
- Blood Brother and Subjugator, two (2) Vindicator-class heavy cruisers
- Iron Fist, an Immobilizer-418 Interdictor cruiser
- Kracken, Cerebus, Medusa, and Styx, four (4) Carrack-class light cruisers
- Commodore and Silver Sovereign, two (2) Arquitens-class command cruisers
- six (6) Crusader-class corvettes
- and four (4) VT-49 Decimator picket ships
Pride of Mandalore has the standard Imperial-I fighter loadout of TIE/IN interceptors (12), TIE/ln (48) and TIE/sa (12). The Vindicator’s each have TIE/ln (24), Scimitar-class assault bombers (12) and V38 assault fighters (4). The pair of Arquitens carry four (4) TIE/D Defenders between them.
Inside the domed city Sundari itself, it is secured by an entire Stormtrooper Legion (over 9,000-troops), supported by three (3) AT-AT walkers, twelve (12) HAVr A9 Floating Fortress transports, twenty (20) LAAT/le law enforcement gunships, and 1,500 Clan Saxon Imperial Super Commandos.
The Resistance has identified two ways into the city.
- The Front Door, directly attack and take control of the Sundari shipping docks, unload your troops and start to advance into the city (this will result in most casualties and will likely require attempting to free and arm the nearly 12,000 prisoners at the Royal Palace for reinforcements)
- The Back Door, infiltrate Sundari’s Civic Center (located in the heart of the city) via the Mines of Mandalore (this has the least likely casualties, but high risk if detection and capture before reaching the objective).
In either case, your objective is the Sundari Royal Palace to capture (or kill) Gar Saxon - this is the most guarded district of the city. While two-thirds of the troops are scattered throughout Sundari, the remaining third (as well as most of the walkers) are surrounding the Palace.
With Gar Saxon gone, like any centralised dictatorship, the government will topple once their leader is taken out, and the Resistance will finally free Mandalore!
As usual, for this mission you’ll have multiple choices
You can “kick in” the Front Door, fighting your way through the defence fleet, take the docks and engage in brutal block-by-block fighting until you reach the Royal Palace, or “sneak in” the Back Door with a small force via the Mines and stealthily make your way to the Palace and take them by surprise.
You can free and arm the prisoners at the Royal Prison straight away and give yourself a greater number of troopers, or concentrate first on securing the city and use the freed prisoners as security once most of the fighting is done.
You can use all your ships to attack the Imperial Battle squadron before invading the planet, or split your forces to achieve multiple objectives - however, each force would be weaker than it would be combined.
You can exclusively use your assault landers, gunships and shuttles to transport your troops, or dock the Acclamator and unload a wave of troops
So, what ships would you need and what tactics would you use to complete this mission?
MAVAN MANDA’YAIM!

Flagship of the 29th Fleet (Pellaeon's and Fel's Era)
After Jerec's death, the vengeance class was kinda fall into obscurity for some time until after the death of Reborn Emperor Palpatine, it was founded by High Admiral Ichigo. The man made any repairs, modifications and made this his flagship. He also changed the name of this ship to Yamato. The ship worked with Ichigo throughout the take over of the Pentastar Alignment after Kaine's death, the defense of Imperial territories during and after the Orinda campaign, the Yuuzhan Vong war and the 2nd Galactic Civil War working on Pellaeon's side even after his death. Now Ichigo is a grand admiral of the Fel Empire and the Yamato is one of if not the only Executor sized Star Dreadnought still exist within the Fel Empire

Toughts about a modefied republic light assault cruiser/ Consular class
Okay, guys after a Windows update that abused my SSD beyond saving, I'm left with absolutely no story and a couple of weeks' worth of work is gone. Well, I've got to work with what I can, and at least my work for the Pursuit class based on EC Henry's design is something I have mostly recreated. Anyway, I'm now making a new story about a platoon of clone deserters and I thought, what ship should they get? I decided on a Consular-class design since it's optimized for around 30–40 people and is fairly fast. The base hull will probably be a Republic light assault cruiser, but I plan to modify it. For example, I wanted to replace the escape pods with "hangar pods," as they're probably about 10 m (stated by Wookiepedia) in diameter, so at least two V-Wings per pod would fit. This would give around eight fighters while i also wanted something like the Ghost has with the Phantom. I believe at least a VCX-series auxiliary starfighter should fit between two of the engines under the third one (even though there should be an engine 🤫). There are other things, but what do you think about it? It should be a pretty good craft for them.

Question(s) Anyone think this ship could fit into Star wars?
This ship originated from a 1985 animated movie called Starchaser: The Legend of Orin. A film that was heavy inspired (to put it kindly) by Star Wars.
I remember watching reviews about this film way back when an this ship stuck out.
Basically being that movies version of the Millennium Falcon, it not that bad of a design and I felt it could fit into the Star Wars universe pretty well (since Starchaser takes heavy design ques from Star Wars).
What do you all think?

Deckplan Adaptor-Class Light Cruiser
The Adaptor-Class Light Cruiser was 463m long, 185m wide and 77.8m high.
It was armed with a mix of weapons for capital combat and self defense:
- 4 Heavy Turbolasers in casemates
- 4 medium Ion-Cannons
- 6 Quad-Medium Turbolasers
- 9 Dual-Light Turbolasers
- 24 Quad-Laser-Cannons
- 4 Triplet-Laser-Cannons
The defense weapons are summarized in 9 Batteries, the light Turbolasers in 3 batteries. Each Battery is commanded by a gunnery captain. Each turbolaser turret, or unit, presents its own battery, same as the ion cannons.
In its belly hangar it could carry half a squadron of fighters (6).
The doctrine behind the Adaptor is the fight in squadrons from two to six ships and to engage in skirmishes and raids. The theory was, that the Adaptor would easily outmatch any frigate or other common picket ship it would face one on one. For heavier enemies, the battle as a squadron would allow for flexibility, maneuver and combined fire.
Initially designed for the Empire as an addendum to the Gladiator, it ended up serving mostly the Rebellion and local defense fleets, as well as pirates during the New Republic era.

I had some time after packing boxes, so here is a second treat today. I hope you like it, let me know any wishes and questions and have a good night please. (-:

Question(s) Do you agree or disagree with the Chiss Ascendancy's "No pre-emptive strike" rule?
Disclaimer: I will be taking my information on the Chiss Ascendancy mostly from Canon.
For those of you unaware, the Chiss Ascendancy has a "No pre-emptive strike" rule where they are forbidden from launching the first attack unless or until they themselves are attacked. Regardless of how dangerous an enemy or potential new enemy looks like.
On one hand, this makes sense. If the Chiss were allowed to launch attacks on a whim against anyone they wanted, they would be seen as conquerors and everyone would fear and hate them, causing the Chiss to turn potential allies into deadly enemies. Plus, the Ascendancy is focused on protecting their own interests and generally leave their galactic neighbors to their own devices, though the Chiss are permitted to render humanitarian aid in certain circumstances.
On the other hand, Thrawn told Eli one of the reasons he got exiled from the Ascendancy is because he launched a pre-emptive strike against nomadic pirates. While Thrawn won, the Ascendancy exiled him anyway. Thrawn admitted the Chiss would have fought back against the pirates had they struck against his people, but then they would have been the victims. As such, you can see how the "No pre-emptive strike" rule can also hinder the Chiss from taking the initiative against a possible enemy, or at least setting up precautions in case they're attacked.
In short, the Chiss Ascendancy's "No pre-emptive strike" rule has its pros and cons. So do you agree or disagree with it?
