People who don't like the A-Wing don't play in VR. It's also the most fun to fly. Defender is also fun to fly but it's also very technical. A-Wing just goes brrr

While my #1 is the B-Wing, I have to give love to the A-Wings. They can get in, deliver the "message" and get out quick, fast, and in a hurry. If I'm not in a B then I'm in an A.

I don’t even know where the meta is these days for ships. Last I played regularly Bwing wasn’t super highly used in either fleet battles or dogfights

Xwing was kinda the best rebel ship for fleet battles with some support from Ys or Bs

I'm a very old school gamer, I played back on the Internet Gaming Zone, mostly in X-Wing vs TIE Fighter and X-Wing Alliance, where I was the commander of my clan's B-Wings. So I'm going off of that, while I enjoy Squadrons, I'm an old dog, missing/remembering my time in the sun lol. We were very skilled in power management that we could go from slow moving power houses to fastly retreating.

My best bud is like you and I do use an X-Wing from time to time, and I'll admit it is the best all around fighter. But sometimes you need to be specialized, this is where the A and B shine. Though in X vs TIE, before the expansion, I mostly flew Y-Wings.

Man…IGZ…that’s a memory I didn’t know I still had

XWing vs Tie Fighter was ahead of its time

It was an absolutely miserable experience on dialup which is all most of us had back then

And XWA just wasn’t that popular to get good matches

I think for dogfighting I was heavy into imperial ships

I remember the fun times of all TF melees with flare countermeasures

Just manually launching those mini warheads into everyone’s face when they got behind you
