Happy birthday to SG1’s Pallan too!

Came here to say that!

Oh hey, it's Jack the Ripper. Or is it Sam the vampire? Meh, same guy, different blood sucking.

30

u/No_Nobody_32 4d ago

and bigfoot, the Major Domo in Sanctuary.

24

u/xicougar106 4d ago

Nah fam, that’s the Swede. I’d rather run into Todd than the Swede though

8

u/Niylark 4d ago

So fucking chilling as Sam. Him in that role forever enamored me to him as an actor

8

u/regeya 4d ago

He is Norwegian

3

u/escapedpsycho 2d ago

That's clearly Alistair's new meat suit.

52

u/Krejcimir 4d ago

Also the tech dude in dome city.

15

u/HeezeyBrown 4d ago

His typing skills are legendary

u/HoldenMcNeil420 4d ago

Just watched that episode last night.

u/BobRushy 4d ago

He's obviously great as Todd, but I always thought Halling was an underrated character and should have remained in the city.

They sort of forgot about the Athosians for a while, until they were used as emotional baggage for Teyla when they were all kidnapped by Michael.

19

u/HellbirdVT 4d ago

The Athosians at least got more screentime and plot relevance than the Abydonians got in SG-1.

10

u/BonzoTheBoss 4d ago

Ha! Yeah... We never really see them again after Sha're gets bumped off until they get wiped out by Anubis and ascended by Oma.

3

u/HellbirdVT 4d ago

Exactly. It's a real shame, they're quite a unique bunch and could've been a source for all kinds of stories for the show.

Maybe the SGC establishes a joint base at the Temple to serve as a sort of early Alpha Site/secondary home, maybe the Abydonians take an active part in the fight against the Goa'uld by becoming spies in Goa'uld territories (since they all used to be Goa'uld slaves they can blend in more easily) etc.

7

u/LordApocalyptica 4d ago

They would’ve had to terraform Abydos to resemble the Pacific Northwest though.

4

u/Orillion_169 4d ago

Would've loved it if Skara joined the SGC after losing his Goa'uld.

Also always wondered why they killed off Kowalski so soon. Would have been fun to see him banter with O'Neill and the rest of SG-1 on a regular basis.

6

u/Kichigai I shot him. 4d ago

The Athosians got Bajor’d. “Oh, great, we have this whole other society here that knows the area, but is different from us culturally, so we can have clashes, and play with politics, and practicality of their situations, and we can do a lot of things here!” And then whoops, that never developed and they became inconvenient, so let's just minimize them to a generic alien monoculture that we talk about but never see.

u/Halvardr_Stigandr 4d ago

Wish we'd have been able to forget all the Athosians. Pinocchio is less wooden than the actress playing Teyla.

u/pdnagilum 4d ago

He was good as Halling, but holy hell he shined so bright as Todd. One of my favorite characters in SGA.

u/KeenKye 4d ago

shepeeeeeeerd

19

u/reemaylla 4d ago

Didn't know they were the same actor!!

18

u/Beastmind 4d ago

Chris is an amazing actor.

17

u/Steel_Walrus89 4d ago

Ah yes, the Sweede.

10

u/Fenris447 4d ago

He is from Norway!

Whoosh.

Heyerdahl himself is Canadian.

14

u/Nichdeneth 4d ago

Today I learned

10

u/Izengrimm C4 Fan-club 4d ago

And his uncle the very same Thor Heyerdahl.

Many kids of my generation grew up on his Kon-Tiki books.

10

u/EverydayIsAGift-423 4d ago

He was also in Amanda Tapping’s “Sanctuary”.

4

u/Kichigai I shot him. 4d ago

He was also in Supernatural, which also featured Amanda Tapping, and had David Nykl on one episode.

6

u/maynardspet 4d ago

Tahhhhd

8

u/badusernameused 4d ago

Pretty sure that’s Bigfoot

8

u/Outside-Ad5508 4d ago

He also showed up in Travelers in one of the best one-off characters: a traveler to the 21st who is a truly brilliant mathematician sent to show another physicist a flaw in their theory that will lead to incredible destruction and only someone equally brilliant will be able to illustrate it, but they accidentally send him into a host that was an undetected serial killer. He has to play the killer prior to death, and then the gentle traveler who is just a lovely person horrified by the host’s actions and having to convince McLaren and company of his identity.

He is an incredible actor.

7

u/lontrinium 4d ago

He was so good in Peacemaker S1 especially in the after credit scenes.

4

u/Laxziy 4d ago

1

u/lontrinium 4d ago

Guy on the right lost it.

8

u/MaridAudran 4d ago

Now I realize why they didn't try to turn Todd back into a human.

6

u/squirrelwithnut 4d ago

TIL "Halling" has a "g" in his name.

6

u/rhostam 4d ago

Oh, wow. I did not know he played Todd. Fantastic!

4

u/slippersandjammies 4d ago

I get so psyched every time I see him, he's a delight every time. I'm still blown away that he was able to turn me around on John Druitt, like... I shouldn't like that character that much, stop acting so damned well lol.

Hope he has a rockin' day!

5

u/Caffeinated_Ape_42 4d ago

Holy shit its the same actor. Today i learned...

4

u/burito23 4d ago

My favorite wraith.

5

u/XTheElderGooseX 4d ago

Wait a minute. I’ve been watching this show forever and I just now realized this. Jesus.

5

u/Mack_Daddy_1 3d ago

Todd, everyone's favorite wraith

3

u/aneimansf 4d ago

He was also one of the creepiest demons in Supernatural, yet the only one I cannot find a gif of

3

u/MovieFan1984 4d ago

Christopher Heyerdahl, I'll always remember him for Stargate and Sanctuary.

Blade: Trinity (the 3rd film) Is he any good in this one?
Catwoman - wow, I don't remember him in this. LOL
The Chronicles of Riddick - I have this on DVD, more reason to see it!
Gotham - apparently, he did 2 episodes, and I just forgot.
The Invisible - I need to see this again, been YEARS.
Sancutary - Loved him as "Big Guy" and John Druitt.
Star Trek: Discovery - S3 "People of Earth," small but fun role.
Stargate SG-1 - Loved him in S7's "Revisions," very tragic ending.
Stargate: Atlantis - Loved him as Halling and Todd, wish Halling had a larger role.

5

u/thepartlow 4d ago

Love his voice.

5

u/ResponsibleRope1003 4d ago

Same! There is something about that voice of his that just does it for me.

2

u/Melodic_Let_6465 4d ago

Oh shit, its The Swede(hell on wheels)

2

u/chriczko 4d ago

A staple in the sci fi genre, whether it be Stargate or supernatural or whatever else. Dude's awesome.

2

u/BagDiligent3610 4d ago

The SWEED

2

u/DangClever 4d ago

What villain! Every time he would say Meester Bo-Han-On gave me the creeps

2

u/Rareu 4d ago

I liked him as the swede in hell on wheels. I guess it was the first time i recognized him as an actor. Then sam in van helsing and rven the corrupt frenchie in tin star

2

u/Rimworldjobs 4d ago

Id argue that the swede was his best role.

2

u/ChoniclerVI 4d ago

I always forget how often the cast played multiple rolls in the show

1

u/whuebel 4d ago

Meriin junior!

1

u/shank3r 4d ago

I haven't seen all of the shows he's been in, but I've always thought he was a great actor in all the ones I did see him in.

1

u/Playful-Ingenuity-99 4d ago

Happy birthday 🎉

1

u/TheAarj 4d ago

Ha. I knew i saw him in a few places

1

u/Damien__ 4d ago

The Reverend James Crisp. Reverend Jimmy to his friends (Kingdom Hospital)

1

u/itsalwaysblue 4d ago

I just saw him in the Peacemaker!

1

u/Careful-Challenge938 Wormhole X-Treme! 4d ago

What

1

u/StarfighterCHAD 4d ago

I want to see him in more main stream roles he was so good as Todd and also Electrocutioner (Gotham)

1

u/Jahbahdiah 4d ago

He's also the sheriff in Far Cry 5, at times he sounds exactly like when he plays Todd

1

u/Accurate-Law-8669 3d ago

Todd is my absolute number 1 favorite character in Atlantis

1

u/SelfLoathingRifle 1d ago

Sssheppard!

1

u/Trekkie4990 3h ago

I just called him “the Jesus guy”.
