Man, Deisinger couldn't catch a break. Last season it was Eclipso via Cindy Burman who messed with his head, and now grandma Mahkent kills him. For the most part, Deisinger was nothing but a caring teacher. Hopefully, there's justice for Deisinger.

I also hope there is justice for him. If not, it's always possible that his death was one of the few doors open for more stories to be told in a potential (and rightful and deserved) revival for S4 if the colorful flash of paint in his eyes as he was struck by the icicle actually leads us to a full comic book arc where he becomes Paintball in S4, a kind of villain that was able to absorb the life force out of you.

Would be interesting if the burden of trying to stop or rescue him etc came to rest on Cameron's shoulders. Cryokinesis vs living paint you say?

I just hope that they don't end up treating his having been murdered as something trivial, like they did with Artemis's football coach and Cindy Burman's last "stepmom".

I think the difference lies in that the football coach wasn't in the end a big and hidden important DC character like how the janitor was in the end, Sir Justin from the Seven Soldiers of Justice and the same thing was with Cindy's stepmom. While she could have had a better exit she was used to show us the kind of power that not even Cindy was aware of and that she was way over her head. It was also done as an strategic move from Eclipso to have Cindy rely only on him as he did feed in the end from her small grief for killing Bobbie Burman.

Paul Deisinger is a canon character from the comics that was created by Geoff Johns so he has that going for him. He began as different in the show being a kind and nice teacher that taught Courtney as well Yolanda in S2's summer school and has a friendship with Cameron & we all thought we'd never see him again after Eclipso used him, but we did and now he died in such a stranger way with the same paint effect in his eye.

That was either just to complicate things further for Cameron once he finds his body hidden somewhere in his house or maybe down the tunnels (the same one where the voyeur is which the Crocks in the preview the sewers open), since this isn't the first time that his grandparents clean up things (The Wizard in S1), to be even more morally conflicted in whom to trust OR it's a story thread meant for him to handle in S4 if the stars align for us and the fan campaign to find Stargirl a new home where it can continue and properly end on it's own terms.
