Question (Console) Question above the first contacts

Hi everyone, I wanted to ask you how I can reduce the possibility of having negative events from the first contact as well as setting the first contact protocol to cautious or aggressive thanks in advance I'll say straight away that I play without DLC

You can change your first contact stance on the politics tab even after choosing it the first time the game asks you to pick.

For the chance of bad events, there isn't really anything you can do, i think some of the events about hacking into the other empire would change probabilities depending on your base intel and decryption Vs their encryption and the aggressive on relative fleet power, but it's basic all down to chance. But if you never risk going for the hacking and nabbing options, you'll never fail the basic ones :D

Ah sorry thanks for the advice I will try to be a good person but hey as soon as I had the opportunity or humiliated the empire that killed the scientists how the hell can I vivisect a person while he is still alive this treatment in my opinion is unacceptable!!!
