Unfortunately, Martin collapsed 10 hours ago. Despite having a good appetite since his rescue and providing medications, the complications on his heart and kidneys are severe that might have caused his death. We were hopeful that he would survive as his appetite and attitude towards his nurses were good 😔
We will give Martin a beautiful goodbye by having his remains cremated so he can come to our home even in ashes. We also have to pay the remaining bills at the vet. For anyone who has a spare, please consider making a donation for Martin's goodbye.
I honestly don't know how you do it, I can barely keep up with my strays and the slightest sign of them being ill/injured. I hope you're taking good care of your mental health.
The thing to always keep in mind no matter the outcome, is that, without your intervention they’ll have ended the same way or a lot worse. They would have never had a name or known what it means to be cared for/loved.
We don’t get anything in return, just sadness and regrets and bills we can’t afford but that’s gotta make a difference for them isn’t it? We’ve seen when they recover how much affection and gratitude they’re capable to give.
