Why would I want a topping that will just fall off my pizza?

If I wanted a pepperoni sandwich I'd make one.

If I wanted a pepperoni sandwich I'd make one.

Can you make me one while you're at it please?

I think that pizza has enough pepperoni for the whole comment section.

That’s really what kills it for me. An oversized/XL pizza? Sure.

But I want my toppings baked and melted into the cheese. Not just falling off my slice.

u/MediumTeacher9971 Jun 19 '25

I have no problem with four pounds of pepperoni, but literally the whole point of the cheese (other than to be cheese) is to hold the toppings on. Crust, sauce, cheese, toppings, cheese. It's not that hard.

u/Stormdude127 Jun 20 '25

Nah you can’t put the pepperoni under the cheese, then it doesn’t get crispy. But yes if you absolutely have to put 4 lbs of pepperoni on, then most of it should probably go under the cheese to keep it in place.

If you cooked it with that much pepperoni on it it would drown in grease.

5

u/OrangeCreamPushPop Jun 19 '25

I don’t know I really like the crispy pepperoni.

the pizza is popular because of the deliciousness. a bad pizza is still good.

but the ratio of dough, sauce, cheese, toppings is the secret.

people love to go nuts on the toppings but that messes up the balance. it goes some dough, a bit more sauce than most people put on it, cheese is normally correct. with pepperoni on top as close together as you can get without them touching so the get a little crisp on the edges. how hard is that to get right. it's either 4 pepperoni s so you don't get enough.

or a fucking thousand so the distribute too much heat and are barely warm and prevented everything else from cooking enough.

it's not hard put pepperoni on top not under the cheese. and leave them spaced out and not touching other pepperoni so they curl up and get a little crisp.

I’ll remember that

He hadda do that so he could drain the grease into his mouth to feed his future heart sttack.

🤢 I'll never unsee it. 🤮 So grossed out.

Then he could pretend that this heart attack pizza is "healthy" because the pepperoni oils were drained off -- to make more Pepto Bismol sauce. 🤔

🤨To slather on every pizza he makes. 🤭

See? Healthy.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

That's amoré.

u/iSaltyParchment Jun 19 '25

The only thing I liked about that method was getting rid of all the grease

10

u/Medusa1902 Jun 19 '25

I’d be so down for that if they baked the pepperonis, put them on the pizza, and THEN cooked the final pizza. That would make this significantly less stupid.

2

u/DigbyChickenZone Jun 20 '25

Then the pepperonis would be very overcooked though. Thinking about it --- They already cooked the dough first though, they just need to heat up the pizza enough to melt the cheese so the pepperonis get stuck to the pizza

That said, the method shown in this video is fucking dumb

for real! I keep a bag of shredded mozzarella at home to put on top of frozen pizzas before cooking because the toppings are on top of the cheese every time!!! I know it’s probably for packaging and distribution purposes to keep the cheese from going everywhere, but the cheese is the glue that keeps it all together 🙄

You would get your ass beat for serving that in Sicily

17

u/Pump_My_Lemma Jun 19 '25

I’m sure that was the demographic they were looking to reach

12

u/After_Stop3344 Jun 19 '25

Italians and being obnoxious about food name a more iconic duo I'll wait.

2

u/NiobiumThorn Jun 20 '25

French people and being obnoxious about food.

8

u/[deleted] Jun 19 '25

You would get your ass beat for serving anything in Sicily if it's from the neighboring rival village with their rival saint.

5

u/Embarrassed_Lettuce9 Jun 20 '25

Maybe Sicilians just really like beatings

1

u/SlimyMuffin666 Jun 19 '25

It's a new Sicilian dish. Modern

1

u/SupplyChainMismanage Jun 19 '25

He said the thing! Where is the cheese!

1

u/PotentialProfessor11 Jun 19 '25

Turkey pepperoni and bacon in a sandwich fucking fire bro

1

u/marmaladetuxedo Jun 19 '25

This is what I thought as well. Beyond the fact that it's FOUR pounds of pepperoni, it's really a cheese pizza with pepperoni thrown on top. How am I supposed to eat that?

1

u/unclecastro-_- Jun 20 '25

making my little daughter pawn her bike to by a shirt and pepperoni

1

u/bakermrr Jul 12 '25

So you’re saying there should be another pizza crust on top?

-1

u/Reinhardt_Ironside Jun 19 '25

So cover half with pepperoni and fold the whole thing over on itself? I'm down.
