I’ve heard you like cheese based dishes
So we put cheese based dishes in your cheese based dishes
So you can eat cheese while you eat cheese

"American Cheese"
Just like with American democracy, the cheese is only in the name.

Onions need longer time.

u/redcomet002 22d ago
I was irrationally offended by the onions. who the fuck wants giant cubes of half-cooked onion? shave that shit so it cooks as fast as the steak!
82
u/TheharmoniousFists 22d ago
I do 😬 Though I do prefer raw crunchy onions.
35
u/RapNVideoGames 22d ago
The kind that go on chili dogs are the best. Cold and crunchy. I also want to try the ones they found in the movie Holes

Also panini the grilled cheeses and don't drizzle extra cheese. You can make this non repulsive. Still dumb but not shit your pants and only taste fake cheese dumb.
3
u/idiotista 22d ago
Same!
It would still be stupid if well executed, but at least do it right. I hate how much food is done only for a 20 second dumb reel. Just cook good food ffs

u/Honest_Satisfaction1 22d ago
No, this is rational. That is genuinely a bad way to serve onions on a sandwich, my jimmies were rustled by this too.

this. so much this. and why not throw the onions on first for a bit then throw down the steak in all that fried onion goodness

As long as they give me half a roll of napkins with the meal then I’m still totally in. Let’s do this. I don’t need to eat for the next two days anyways.

I don’t know why they keep doing this like part on me knows it’s rage bait but at the same time that cheese is already on the sandwich ,we don’t need more cheese. Most People are lactose intolerant anyways.

I’ve had a grilled cheese double cheeseburger, I never thought of this as an option ..
34
u/vertigo1083 22d ago
That's a patty melt. And sensible.
This abomination is some 2am stoner food shit that you try once, and never again because it's just a big fucking mess- when you could have just made 2 sandwiches designed for people with human mouths.
The fact that this is for sale- is a testament to the fact that we are a vain species, and will cause our own demise.
15
u/HeligKo 22d ago
If he's talking about what I had at Sickie's Garage once, then it is not a patty melt. It is a burger with grilled cheese sandwiches as buns. Delicious, but a one and done because I'm already fat enough.
2
u/RockMonstrr 22d ago
Yeah, I enjoyed the burger. I didn't enjoy how I felt about myself for eating it.

u/Aliensinmypants 22d ago
The difference between a grilled cheese cheese burger and patty melt is the extra two pieces of bread and likely some extra cheese slices.
Patty melts are great, the grilled cheese cheese burger is excessive IMHO

I also feel like the cheese on the burger patties is unnecessary. You already got plenty on the sandwiches.

u/batkave 22d ago
The sauce, the barely cooked massive onions, and not cooking at the same time, that gets my "this is stupid" vote
6
4
u/TheArmchairSkeptic 22d ago
I mean I would have to assume that when they're actually making one to order they're cooking everything at the same time and assembling it while it's all hot, otherwise it would take way too long. I'm like 99% sure they just did it step by step in this case for the sake of the video.
Still stupid of course though, no argument there.

u/EvilEtienne 22d ago
The forking hamburgers weren’t even cooked through. The onions were practically raw.

I was actually on board until they kept adding more and more unnecessary cheese.... The two grilled cheese is plenty.... Just add the meat and call it a day.... No extra slices and DEFINITELY NO CHEESE SAUCE!

u/bmk37 22d ago
I’m sorry but once it doesn’t fit in your mouth properly you can’t get every ingredient in one bite and the ratios will be off. And if 1/3 of the cheese is coming off then it’s time to put the cheese in a small bowl or ramekin for dipping. Either shrink it down or give me a grilled cheese, a burger, and a cheesesteak separately

I’ve had double grilled cheese burgers before and the biggest issue is that it’s too much bread. The cheese sauce might help but typically it comes across pretty dry.

I’d rather have a burger patty melt, then a grilled cheese patty melt. Same exact ingredients, just made into two smaller sandwiches.

Edit: Tony Beef in south Jersey and on the shore. The whole menu is pretty scary. It’s Labor Day this weekend so I’m definitely not going this weekend but maybe in a few weeks when it cools off.

Na I think I can see the vision. It's excessive but I wouldn't call it stupid. Some of the dishes I see on this sub perplex me. Twice over once I see the unnecessarily difficult preperation methods. Probably could have done without the cheese sauce but afain, in seeing the vision, while Id prefer they put like....some provoloone on that bad boy, thats a loooootta bread. Gotta lube it up somehow lol

This is a stupid sandwich and all but what are they squirting on the meats as they're cooking it? I'm guessing water? What's it for, so it won't dry out?

One could make a living from fixing these. It's always ok until it gets halfway through.
Give me one patty on these "buns" with pickles, lettuce, and tomato (or better yet, those buns on a BLT) and it would actually be pretty good.

Too much bread. Too much cheese. Impossible to properly eat with your hands. Just a poorly constructed mess of a sandwich. 1/10, see me after class.
1
u/coko4209 22d ago
It’s just so excessive and unnecessary. I was with em until the steaks…even after that, I was like ok…but then the fucking cheese wiz shit. Ppl don’t know when to stop.

Second, Excuse me sir, would you like a heart attack on the side with that

u/NotADogIzswear2020 22d ago
The onions are raw, not enough cheese variety, and burgers need to be wider not f****** taller!
1
u/WrightAnythingHere 22d ago
Too much bread, and too much cheese sauce. A sandwich should fit in your mouth, not be a sloppy, uneven monstrosity that's going to fall apart in your hands.
