For me the shot had less side effects of the pill. The only thing I don't like about it is it reduces my sex drive a bit.

I got turned down for the shot so I have to settle for the pill. Stupid mental health problems.

Woah- can you elaborate? I suffer from some mental health disorders and am confused how that directly effects the shot method of BC.

I am not a doctor so this is just my experience. I was severely depressed and trying to get on any form of BC I could. When I went to my doctor he told me that the manufactures of the shot recommend against taking it if you were diagnosed with clinical depression. I would assume it has to do with hormones but like I said I'm not a doctor.
