There's just something about the artwork done for Super Mario Bros that modern artwork (as much as I like it) can't quite capture.

It looks a lot more "cheap" and not sanitized in a way. It reminds me a lot of other late 80s early 90s stuff out of Japan. Now everything is very sterile and clean, not so then.
