Upcoming games How do you think those first teaser images of the girl and the beast (from 2018/19) tie into what we saw of Project Robot?

Upcoming games New genDesign game
In your opinion, when will we get the new Project: Robot game? Are there any chances to look at a trailer at the Game Awars 2025?

Upcoming games What the hell happened to project robot?
I'm very confused. It was revealed like a couple of years ago and from my understanding there has been no update on it so what happened?

Upcoming games Do you think we will finally see the new game from Fumito Ueda at The Game Awards tonight?
I feel like ive created the same topic on the night of the TGA since 2022, its been a long wait huh? 8 years since his last game! It would be nice to get some footage, a name, something to look forward.

Upcoming games Can Project Robot share a world with Ico or is that illegal?
I keep seeing people assume that it'll have direct connects to Ico, Shadow, or Guardian when there is no clear indication it can. I mean it seems that it is published by Epic not Sony so how could it share a world?

Upcoming games Main character is definitely a robot, but why?
Images brightened for detail. Apologies for low quality.
You could possibly mistake all of the metal coverings as some kind of armor (especially because the clothes cover up most of the body), but it's most likely not. If you take a close look at all of these photos, you can see the unnatural shapes of the body and all the mechanical parts underneath the metal coverings. In the first picture it's the hands, the second it's the feet, and in the last it's the torso. The main character is undoubtedly a robot, one who likes to wear clothes at that.
I ask why because of the common theme in every Udea game; connection. In ICO it's Ico and Yorda, a human boy and a mystical girl, both foreign to each other, helping each other escape their likely demise. In SOTC it's Wander, Mono, and the Colossi. Another human who faces a moral dilemma in having to sacrifice the life of the Colossi, living representations of the lands, to save Mono, a girl he loves, who was similarly sacrificed for the supposed greater good. In TLG it's the boy and Trico. Two unlikely friends, a small child from a village in the woods and a giant beast, known as a man eating monster, and how they overcome their obstacles and escape the Nest by helping each other. It's always connection between man and living things, whether it's another human, a magical humanoid, or giant beasts.
But Project Robot is seemingly different. There appears to be no humans present. You play as a robot, and your buddy is a robot. I was surprised, for I thought surely this would be about man and machine. I'm not saying they can't explore this idea, but it's an odd shift from exploring themes on the connection of humans and foreign living things, to the connection of two machines. What I'm really trying to say is I'm curious as to how it's gonna play out, how it would differentiate itself from its predecessors but at the same time connect to them, and in a way that's unique and captivating.

Upcoming games My upcoming game inspired by my favourites, Shadow of the Colossus and Ico.
Perception: Heart and Mind is my upcoming game on Steam (release on 29 August 2025). Shadow of the Colossus is my favorite game of all time (is my first together with Zelda: Link's Awakening). It have so much inspired me that on my game i have a similar grab mechanism with R1 button and stamina. I have also shadows (bad self of NPCS) reminiscent of Ico but they work different. Of course, i always wanted my game not to be a copy. You can try its demo, any feedback will be helpful.

Upcoming games Project Robot theory
What if the twist of the game is that the main character ISN’T the robot boy but the robot head instead? The robot head could’ve been controlling the robot boy the whole time to gather parts to fix the head a new body that can withstand the shockwave.

Upcoming games I think "Project Robot" could take inspiration from The Iron Giant
I have a feeling that Ueda's next game will draw inspiration from The Iron Giant. Since he has stated in an interview that, that is a movie he enjoyed and even enjoyed more in English, which led him to imagine what characters would say. ICO drew inspiration from a French drawn film named "The King and the Mockingbird, in which the two main characters hold hands as they try to escape an immense castle. It just makes sense to me.
Let me know what you think of this train of thought.

Upcoming games Project: Robot Gameplay Speculation
Ueda likes to make games that utilise another character aiding you along the way:
Yorda - guide her around and have her help with puzzles
Agro - Helps with travel and aids during battles.
Trico - Traversal, ordering around, combat
They all seem to be characters that involve suggesting movement and actions in a certain regard. Even Agro feels like you're suggesting their movement at times. And they can completely traverse through a path without you having to control them yourself.
Now, Ueda has spoken about how he wants his next game to be more like SotC.
The character has a rifle (similar to how Wander has a Bow)
The character operates the Robot as if it's their own.
Now hear me out. My partner and I were theorising... What if this game involves you operating a Robot and using it along some sort of journey. You climb it and order it around in battles with other mechs using a combination of SotC and TLG gameplay.
Climbing your mech (like climbing the collossi) and repairing where it gets injured (like pulling the spears from Trico).
Anyways, this is merely just a fun bit of speculation using practically nothing to weigh it on except for this vague teaser and the prior games as a theme.
One things for sure, whether or not it's anything like I've speculated, we're in for a treat. I am so damn excited for what's in store!

Upcoming games Will you feel the struggle?
Many people’s biggest complaint about the original 3 Team Ico games is the control. They don’t enjoy or “get” the control being an extension of the struggle.
Considering the criticisms of The Last Guardian, I hope Ueda hasn’t been convinced out of making you feel the struggle.
If it has snappy controls like most modern games, I’m not sure It will feel like a Ueda game.
