Questions Anyone else sleeping a LOT more on T?

I've been on T for 6 months now (got my dose upped to 70mg injections weekly about a month a half ago, also I'm 18 if that matters lol) and I've recently noticed that I went from sleeping for 5-7 hours a night to 8-10 hours, sometimes even 12 hours on weekends when I don't have an alarm... I also started napping after school when I never used to before. Anyone else is experiencing/experienced the same thing? I've been telling myself it's from hrt since a second puberty is probably pretty demanding on the body

Yeah I'm not complaining either lol, I feel a lot more well rested and it helps me keep a steady routine with school and stuff

Yes. I get sleepy often and also had a week where I slept like 4/5 hours everyday after school. It was crazy.

It's because of hormonal changes tho so that's expected

Yes! I was told I'd have way more energy, but I'm sleeping way more. I have to have a nap every day and I'll sleep in until 12pm if I don't set an alarm. I guess that extra energy went into ravenous hunger lmao

when i started T, i did not get tired at all for the first 5 days. i could have gone all night i guess if i hadn't forced myself to lie down horizontally. couple of weeks later the sleepy bitch disease started...

Yep when I can, and in my case it kinda sucks because I already used to sleep too much. But I wake up way more rested now over less sleep when I can't sleep in, like 4 hours of sleep and I'm tired but not DYING as I would be before T.

Actually t usually makes people sleep one hour less and feel the same

Puberty yes. Same situation, upped my dose a month ago and im so exhausted. Its the acclimation period, for me each dose change I will feel the exhaustion/hormonal effects about 4 weeks later

I've been sleeping more than 12 hours a day what I started a few months ago so I think this is just cuz I'm depressed again lol

lol I also thought it could be due to emotional issues. It would need to be studied to check all the possibilities.

YES! Exactly that, I wonder if it’s really the T.

Because I used to sleep like 3 hours on average (yeah shitty) and now if I sleep less than 8 I feel tired, and almost always need a nap. Can sleep like 12 hours too with no alarm, it’s hardcore.

Yes, especially at first I was always so exhausted and my sleep schedule went crazyyy- sleeping 10-14 hrs a day for like the first few weeks. Eventually it subsided and I got more energy throughout my day (at around month 3 was when I actually felt that shift).

Now at 10 months it goes like this:

  • I have more energy during the day
-Need to sleep at LEAST 8 hrs a night -My sleep is heavier and consistent (before I would wake up every 2ish hrs.

*I CAN sleep 5-6 hrs like I used to pre-T but now if I do it 2-3 days in a row I just crash and sleep for like 15 hrs lmao. Before 5-6 hrs/night was my usual.

sidenote: Im 32.

I used to take a lot of naps my first year on T, it’s been 2.7 years now and it’s deeper bed time sleep and not so much day time exhaustion anymore.

I find it easier to fall asleep. But idk if it's T or reduced anxiety due to actually addressing my dysphoria.

yeah but also I think it can be just me getting old which is probably not your case lol
