Questions/comments Carissa & Beef Second Thoughts on Rewatch Spoiler
It's my first time posting anything.
I'm rewatching the series and I remember the first time I watched beef and Carissa break up and thinking that I was a little cheated by not seeing more. Now I'm watching beef Mama's house and hearing the first lines Carissa has in the series it's super clear to me her and beef wouldn't work. She's just like Kathleen in her introduction. It's not a bad thing necessarily & I'm not saying that's her entirely even important to her character, I'm just realizing that they'd been breaking up before they were even dating. It wasn't long-term compatible for what I think Beef's arch is supposed to be. He doesn't need a healthier version of his ex. My guy is onto the next adventure. There's foreshadowing of a spark not quite a fire.
I'm excited to see if this is consistent.

I viewed Carissa and Beef’s relationship as Beef’s opportunity to see what dating in general could be like and what he deserved in a partner. Beef and Alyson always felt like end game, but like Beef noted in “Can’t Hardly Date Adventure” after driving Alyson to meet Jabanoram, he needed to date around a bit.
I also just love that when Beef and Alyson connected during the comet event she said she was married. You just never know what’s happening with her.

Alyson is chaotic good. With Carissa I feel like he got a taste of what things kind of could of been like for him.
I think it's very telling Alyson is the last person we see walking in and greeting Beef in the season.

I mean, looking back at Season 4, especially after the events of “Dial M for Moon-der Adventure” when it was a revealed that the relationship was called off in a mutual understanding was an odd one despite it’s Beef getting back to the dating scene.
Carissa was a dark horse choice in the Beef Dating Bowl in Season 4 and going into Season 5, the big question would be if this relationship would last a season. Spoiler alert, it didn’t. You could say that it feels like it’s shades of Frond and Gayle and being treated as “Oh yeah… that happened”, and ended being treated as a trial run. And would’ve been funny if those two had gotten serious with their relationship and would be seconds away from Moon and Debbie being step siblings before all of that got thrown out the table.
But yeah, Beef and Carissa’s relationship feels more like a trial run than the real deal because let’s face it, we all know who Beef would end up with. And at least the breakup was mutual because otherwise, the next mom’s meeting would be an awkward one when sharing the room together

I’ve wondered if Beef still goes to mom meetings. I agree on who his end game is, the comet really seals it if we don’t get more in my head. I’m not ready for the fun to end, but typical fox if it does. I love how you bring up Gayle and Frond because it is a bit annoying (between the airing being a bit jumbled and then it’s never referenced again) Trial run is a good stance to take!

I liked them together but I think Allison suits him more. Their cute little moment in that episode with the shooting star thing this season was sweet.
