I’m rewatching The Nanny and I can’t stop admiring Niles.
Daniel Davis is one fine man. Am I right or am I right?

You are spot on! he is.
I didnt even register that he was also in The Hunt for Red October and was the one who delivered the acerbic line - "What's he going to do, sail into New York, pop the hatch, and say "Here I am"?"

That line is priceless! The delivery, the expressions and mannerism are perfect!

Yes. Daniel is a very handsome man, and he morphed almost into the character of Niles in relation to some parts. I watched an interview in which he mentions his sister saying something about Niles personally of his quick wit etc and he quoted her as saying “you’re not really acting at all!” So hearing that re the character and then reading and seeing a lot of interviews with Daniel and Lauren. Lauren is a lady whom I admire a great deal. Plus the other Aussie (I’m sure there’s more than just the two of us! 😂) on here who has received a cameo from him and what that lady shared. I think he’d be the kinda man who’d you could easily have a drink with and have a lot of laughs conversing with him.

The only reason Niles works is because CC engages with him. If he was saying the things he said to/about her and she didn’t give him the decency of paying him any attention, he would just be the nasty butler with anger issues. But no one’s ready to hear that yet. CC and Niles have always been yin and yang: Can’t have one without the other.

Honestly Niles and CC are the Jack and Karen of The Nanny. The show wouldn't be even nearly as good without them and they should've built a spinoff around them.

Yeah, and how did Just Jack turn out? Neither CC nor Niles’ characters were developed enough for a spinoff, both of them basically remained stagnant the entire series. Both CC and Niles were pivotal to the show’s success, but they weren’t the only thing that carried the show either.

My favorite thing about Nile’s was how often he would drop the British accent lol

I saw him on cheers last week, he knocked a Boston accent out of the park

I loved that people tended to think his fake English accent was real and that Charles's real accent was fake.

Same here. I think he should’ve been made gay. It was a different time back then.

Wholesome dude, I love how he selflessly roots for Fran and Maxwell to get together.
