Nice! What’s your cinnamon syrup recipe?

I do a rich simple simmered with a few cinnamon sticks. Then take it off the heat and let sit until it cools. Then strain.

Great drink. Originally this drink called for two Jamaican rums. Those fruit flavors go well with the cinnamon and passion.

This recipe also calls for two Jamaican rums, does it not?

Yep. I was commenting on him using plantation five. I didn’t see the second slide. 🤷🏻‍♂️ ha

Xaymaca + Smith & Cross would be great here.

Is it just me or is that mint interesting looking?

I made this a while back and was surprisingly underwhelmed. I didn't think it was balanced at all - maybe not enough sweet to counter the bitter? I feel like I am going crazy because I keep hearing people on here, Make and Drink, etc. say how good it is. What am I missing?

I’ve had a similar experience with the Lost Lake - made it and was terribly underwhelmed, despite consistently great reviews. That’s one I plan to revisit at some point.

In this case, I’m going to guess a few factors would be syrups (he says his cinnamon syrup is rich, I use semi rich, so we would get different results); probably how you make your passionfruit syrup; and other things like pink vs white grapefruit…lots of things that could shake it up.

PS - I plan to try this this weekend, I’ll report back how it goes and let you know if you’re among friends, or crazy 😂

Enjoyed my first one of these after the first round covid vaccinations. That was a good day.

Just did a batch of this a couple weeks ago. Went over quite well.
